Email still freezes for a few seconds (usually 7) when I open it from a notification on the Lock Screen by tapping it or swiping to the right to open. It’s been this for awhile now, but don’t remember if I encountered it in the iOS 18 beta process this past summer.

My other guess is maybe it’s trying to analyze it to summarize it? Idk. Annoying.

Haven't experienced this. How far back are you in the betas? Might be doing some serious indexing.
All of them. My 15PM didn’t have this issue. But my 16PM gets VERY hot during update and for some time after... not sure if this is related to simultaneous charging during the update or not. But whenever it happens, I rest the phone on top of an ice bag (really). Don’t wanna my battery to degrade so quickly…

I’m pretty convinced it’s a hardware issue so I really doubt it’s ever going to be fixed in an update. My 16 Pro Max has 0 touch issues
Impossible, I already replaced a July made iPhone with one from September and still the issues are there, so it's software

Have they fixed the bug where when you want to attach an image to iMessage sometimes you have to click photos twice for your library to come up???? Been a bug FOREVER
No. The behavior that you mentioned and inquired about STILL exists.

Not a good day.

Updated iPad Pro 11 M4 OTA and it went well. Initial notice, if I vertically scroll quickly through something with graphics (game, gallery) the display is jittery. Frame rate drop.

Bad part of the day, my 15 ProMax is stuck. I have about 1/4 of the loading bar showing w/ Apple logo and it hasn’t progressed in an hours. More to come….
The downside of running betas. That sucks. Hope you get the devices wiped and reinstalled with your backup ok.

It's funny that people mention touch issues. The only touch issue I have is with Telegram, but I think that's an app bug, as it also happens on my iPad.

Could your case also be an app bug?
Yeah I have zero touch bugs either thankfully.

which phone are you using? because the touch issue is only with the iPhone 16 line...... It's not an app for me, it happens all over the OS and in different apps.

This may be old news, but I read somewhere that the 16 has thinner bezels than previous phones, and the way people grip the sides can cause multiple touches. I guess using the phone without holding it for a few minutes to see if the problem re-occurs would rule that out or not.

I'm using an iPhone 16 Pro Max, and I only had this issue in exactly 1 app. Are people who are experiencing this using screen protectors?

Anyone experiencing any WhatsApp issues since the latest update? Frequently get a connecting message and sending messages are slow. Happens on both cellular and WiFi

My 16 Pro Max from Sept has zero issues with the touch screen. Works perfectly. So, since we all have the same software, explain how it’s a software issue if there are phones that don’t have the issue…

Quite easily, issues like this have occurred before on previous models and have all been addressed with software fixes.

Of course, there are always individual exceptions where it is actually a hardware issue but that is not what we are talking about here.

I think that theory is also false— I can hold my finger on the edge of the phone all over the place and still scroll/tap with the other, no problem— while for some others, doing the same thing makes their phone totally unresponsive.

Two of my 15 Pro Max had faulty touch screens since launch that Apple refused to address, and no software update ever fixed them. I too thought my 15s were probably affected by a software bug for the longest time… after 12 months I realized it couldn’t be software

Or it’s a hardware issue that is fixed by a software patch. See, eg, the Studio Display camera issues.

Well I hope I’m right in saying and believing it will be addressed by a software release. It’s a shitta for those with the issue otherwise!

Have run into a rare occurrence where a screen shot will come out very dark. Both the 15PM and iPad Pro.
Here is the latest (on the iPad). Screenshot of the lockscreen Taken taken a minute apart.

Spell check is also randomly capitalizing words (see above).

So, have any if you turned on the ChatGPT extension, and if so, does it make word prediction and intuitiveness any better, when responding to iMessages and social media posts??

That would be possible if Apple is using multiple manufacturers for one of the screen components, and one of the manufacturers has a misconfigured component that can be tweaked with a firmware update. But the first step would be Apple admitting there is actually an issue, and for things like this, that can be very difficult. 😅
