15 ProMax - iPad Pro 11
Mail

Still has issues.
Badge says X. Open Mail and wait for the “Just now updated” and get Y. Pull down for a manual refresh and get Z.

Seriously? After all this time and improvements, Apple still cannot get it right.

Because no one expects Midjourney-like photos from Apple and that's probably also something Apple doesn't want to. Playground images is more family-oriented. Generating fun pictures, they don't have to look realistic for this purpose.

Exactly.

Not sure what’s going on, but RC seems to be worse with battery than B4. Also, my 16 Pro has been running hot the last few hours.
Give it time, the OS is indexing and so the battery life for the first few days after the update is going to be mediocre in comparison to a fully settled OS

How to do without deleting any data? I have a windows pc.
I wouldn’t. It does not work, the process to update iPhones or iPads via IPSW in windows Apple Devices is horribly broken and is bricking people’s devices. without confirmation that this issue has been patched I would not risk it

Using the camera control button (iPhone 16 Pro) to trigger visual intelligence and then taking a screen shot to share with people is SUPER jacked

I’ve just started using Visual Intelligence also. Very impressive.

Yikes. Hopefully whoever replaces Tim can de-Disnify the company somewhat. :)

I guess you can’t “forward” custom emojis from one text thread to another… that sucks.

I don’t feel like typing a huge list, but this release has a lotta bugs. Woof.

I find is sad and a bit crazy. The iPhone used to be my go-to device for basics, general use, and camera. Now-a-days I use other devices for what used to be the domain of the iPhone. @iLuddite - you may have it right. Sort of Disney-fied.
It all started with the damn Memoji. (Actually probably long before that, during Steve’s time at Pixar…)

Apple was never different since the first iPhone release. They were always Disney-fied, also under Jobs.

I still use my phone for those basic things.

My phone doesn't support AI (iPhone 11). Maybe that's why I like iOS 18!

(I've just bought a new Mac which does support AI, but after reading what it can currently do in MacOS 15.2, I've left it disabled.)

What can it do ? Any links ? Cheers.
When I first activated the laptop, it gave me a list of stuff and asked if I wanted to activate it.

It gave a more descriptive list during the MacOS install, but this is what it says in Settings right now:

I’m fine with it. There are plenty of other tools out there if you want them.
Yes, but isn't that true of any product, especially in tech? Android, Windows, etc.? They're pushing Apple Intelligence as the #1 reason to get a new phone. Isn't the point for us not to want other tools?

Apple has traditionally kept its offerings “family friendly”. That’s why there are no p*rn apps in the App Store. I see no difference here.
If someone wants it, they know where to go.
