For those with lag/glitching does disabling apple intelligence help? I'm on an older iphone 13 mini

It stutters on my 13 Pro. Happens the first time like tapping the address bar in Safari or swiping on the tab bar on the bottom but smooth after usually.
Ugh. I just refuse to update to either the newest iOS or macOS releases. Seems like Apple is really dropping the ball on stability and performance across the board on these right now.

When viewing the BBC news website via safari scrolling doesn’t work using left of the screen ( left thumb) no matter how much I try. But right side does. Never had touch issues before til now. But alas it’s only limited to the BBC website.

I finally gave up waiting for 18.4 betas to drop, so upgraded from the RC to the latest 18.3 public release. I say latest, as I have an iPhone 11 and the update seems to have been re-released.

I detect nothing different between the public and RC releases. Both were/are running well for me. Not having any AI capabilities could be helping!

WiFI Printing

Had to print out a number of different tax docs this morning.
When I would open a doc, either via email, download, or app, the doc would display very well however the Print from the Action Menu, I would in most cases have to manually reselect my printer. In the past, after the first selection, the printer would be remembered.

It isn’t a case of having multiple printers, I only have one - an HP Color Laserjet.

The issue is occurring on both devices.
MBP and all other devices (non-Apple) are showing no issues.

I just tried and no problem at all on my iPhone 13 Pro Max.

I'm getting a weird bug, but can't always replicate it.
When I open WhatsApp specifically, which has Require FaceID enabled (from Home screen, not the app settings), I get lock screen/notifications screen (as if I pulled from top left) with FaceID unlock animation around dynamic island, but the green one from unlocking apps, not the phone itself. It doesn't happen every time and restarting my phone didn't help.

Have you tried a different browser? (Just for comparison of that issue) That would tell you if it’s Safari or maybe the site..

Still seeing delays opening emails in mail FWIW. Touch is unresponsive for seconds.
Do you have AI turned on? Wonder if that initial lag might be it scanning new mail, generating summaries, etc.. (All of that is supposed to be performed on-device, correct?)

I’m still of the opinion that Mail needs a major revamp.

Various

Tried turning off AI and still had issues with Mail. AI seems to make it worse.

Having various apps just freeze and become unresponsive. I can close them, kill them, and relaunch them and all is well. Not sure what is driving this.

Many bugs are still frustrating and they exist since many years:

- Opening a new mail from the lockscreen notification opens the inbox but freezes the Mail app

- Sometimes the keyboard is still laggy. Especially by replying to someone from the notification in the lockscreen. Like with WhatsApp.

- Display flickering on the 16 Pro (Max)

I'm on 18.3.1.

Keyboard lags every now and then.

Still have a touch screen issue, but it's only noticeable when selecting emails to delete (I use Spark). I'll be tapping them quickly one after another and it'll continuously miss one. If tapping slowly, never happens. Each email has 2 lines displayed, so it's a large area to tap. Point is, I'm not missing them just by tapping quickly.

App store still closes itself out when updating apps. Happens almost always.

You should update to 18.3.1, no reason to stay on 18.3 RC.

Also, to see if you truly have a touch screen issue, try the stock Mail app. If it doesn't happen there, it's a Spark app problem.

I actually forgot I updated to 18.3.1. I never turned off the beta profile, but forgot I got 3.1 anyway. :O
