Last message regarding this. The reset all settings is not a "scorched earth approach". Its a relatively easy option and is there for reasons like this. IF you are not willing to help yourself then so be it. But your issue is NOT a bug in the current iOS it is a issue with YOUR device. If you cant be bothered to try and resolve your issue with some suggestions you have been given OR call Apple support then please quit bothering the users here with your issue. Again its NOT an iOS 18.3 bug and further discussion regarding it in this thread should stop. Perhaps making a separate new thread for your further complaints would be a better option.

Totally agree.
Im so bored of seeing this predictable, moaning pattern on here every single release. Well said.

The energy used and frustration with that device by not helping yourself with simple ways to fix the issue is beyond me. 100% user error in this case, not a bug.

Anyone experiencing occasional frame rate drops around the UI on iPhone 16 pro series?

4 days in since I updated to the final 18.3, so far mostly no major issues but I do find the camera lags taking a photo sometimes or the focus has a delay. Battery life is the same or maybe a tad better. The autocorrect bug I had seems fixed too 🤞🏼

Also, my phone doesn’t get hot when charging like it did on previous versions.

iPhone 15 Pro - battery at maximum capacity 89%, day one release device. Cycle count 593.

Issues seen with 18.3
  1. iPhone Camera is killing it in battery usage even though I haven’t used the camera since I rebooted.
  2. iPad calling no longer worked and I had to toggle the option.
  3. IPad Safari reset all my logins even on secure sites like finance which required me to trust the device again on these sites.
  4. iPad Safari turned off Favorites bar but enabled favorites on new tabs. Once I turned the bar on Apple now uses a tiny font and centers the sites. Unlike the Mac there is no way to restore the old behavior.
  5. Still no way to disable the summarize line for individual emails. Someone sent me an email just containing pictures and Summarize just said “joe set you pictures”.

Apple doesn't even know what is fixing anymore. CVE-2025-24166 has been removed.

The online support has limited options unlike the Genius Bar or the tier 2 support. And most of the issues are usually resolved with either of those so it’ll always be their first suggestion.

If you’re constantly having issues perhaps it’s time to go nuclear and start fresh. I went with a fresh install on my 13 Pro a few months ago and haven’t had any issues throughout the iOS 18 cycle.

You do have a couple options prior to restoring that might fix your App Store issue.
- Reset all settings only
- Sign out of Apple account, restart and then sign back in

If either of them don’t work then starting fresh might solve your issues as other than battery variances and some Mail issues reported, 18.3 has been pretty solid.
Both of the workarounds are bad. Reset all settings kills all your saved wifi passwords and I have at least a dozen important to me. Logging out/in your Apple account enables full syncing of your device to the cloud and no matter how fast you are, you find some photos and contacts have been copied to your iCloud account. Apple’s message when turning off syncing always makes me afraid of having contacts and photos deleted off my phone.

Apple’s message is no longer “it just works”.

No one said it’s the first thing you should do.
It’s your job to save the WiFi passwords before you reset settings. And if you’re signing out then you already know you’d be syncing back the iCloud data after signing back in and that’s the whole point.
The user I responded to is well aware of the consequences of proceeding with either of those.
But if you have a better solution that’s between restarting your iPhone and what I suggested though, I’m all ears.

Still baffles me why this is a fix. Sometimes with my devices I feel like I’m running Vista. 🫣

Updating apps requires checking your list against App Store for available updates.
Possible reasons for a failed response could be network related or the device being unable to verify your Apple account for authorization so one or the other clears whatever’s preventing that from happening due to the closed nature of iOS. We don’t have access to specific files/logs so we just redo the whole thing kind of like how we retype a password in case of a typo instead of figuring out that particular asterisk.

Unlike third party password solutions Apple provides no batch import/export function so in 2025 if I want to attempt a network reset I must manually share each wifi password into another app like Notes. You would think if Apple recommends this workaround and cared about its users they would provide an easy solution,

Apple knows on my device my sync icloud settings. I don’t know why they don’t maintain them through logout/login except it is a dark pattern for me to use their cloud solution.

They could try releasing quality software.

Nah, just reinstall from scratch. No issues for me with the App Store nor any of my friends..
This might not be an option for some or it might be a case that is isn't an "easy" option.
Apple can diagnose the issue and since this seem to be an edge case it might be something else or related to his iCloud account. There might be a number of things to try before the last resort, reinstalling the device.

A good exampel if you are a Signal user, that's when reinstalling a device is a pain and something you don't try as a first resort.

You're right Rev Benny, successful troubleshooting can save a ton of time

I'm used to this process, and do it every major OS update on all of my gear restoring only what I've been using, no restoring from backups. In a year's time, I accumulate so much stuff I don't end up needing and run so many betas of different sorts. It serves as a good fresh start and a new approach to layout, etc

All of my data is in one cloud or another..

I’ve just noticed it on the Lock Screen… a bug over the calendar event…
