Email still busted for me. Expected behavior is tapping a notification and it goes to the email. Instead, it goes to the inbox and locks up for a few seconds and then you can look at the email. It is getting better, so instead of it locking up 9/10 times, it's now like 7/10 times. Guess it's time to email Craig. It's worked in the past for me.
Happening for me too still. Very frustrating.

Honestly, apps like Spark (which supports Yahoo! mail) seem to be more efficient, faster to use, smarter, and more stable than Mail.

Until this resolves, or perhaps beyond.. why not give it a go if you haven't already? =)

I know that's not a solution for Apple Mail, but hey..

What is the bug?
That takes seconds to load settings. Before you opened it and everything was there and now it seems that it has to take a few seconds to process everything.

It doesn't seem normal to me that the time lapse between you open the application and it loads, and even less on such powerful devices. We are talking about adjustments, not the assassins creed.

Is it just my imagination or are colors a bit muted with this release? Everything looks just a tad...... duller?
I was about to say the opposite, that they have done someting with the contrast or as you say the colours but that it looks much better. Can't figure out what it is tho. Its more obvious on my 13 pro than on my 14.

You tried this on the day you installed 18.3. Give it a day or so and try it again. The indexing and other set up stuff following the update can make the phone somewhat sluggish.

This has been done since iOS 18.1... it's not something of today in particular, but I have noticed that today it was especially "slow" (it takes longer to load than normal, but normal, it isn't immediate).

I have a question/theory and I would like to share it with you. Do you think the best way to test a new version of iOS in this case 18.3 without errors is by doing a clean install? Whether you are coming from iOS 17.7.2 or 18.2.1 I look forward to your feedback. Thanks in advance. 👍

If you are not facing any major issues, clean installation is not required.

Haven't done a clean install in years on my daily driver. The only time its done is when I swap phones which is about every 3 years.
I have a pile of testdevices i use but same thing there, OTA updates.
The only time I do a "clean install" is if its my only option, DFU mode or similar.

It’s a PIA, but I’ve done every year when upgrading to a new os. Even if I upgrade that year, I do the same thing and haven’t had any issues, besides re-downloading all my apps and signing back into them one by one.

photos app still wont populate people & pets, memories, featured photos, suggested wallpapers with a clean install of iOS 18.3 :(

I am seeing double message entries in the messages app from non apple devices in group conversations. Everything was good yesterday before the upgrade. This is also happening on my iPad with 18.3.

is it just me or has the animation changed when you open apps? Before, they flew in from where the app symbol was, now they open centrally, I have the feeling

15PM

After giving it a day to settle down, here are things I have found so far that were not an issue in RC:

1. Some apps are running slow. Example - Proton Mail. It takes longer to load new emails and once done it takes several seconds for the badge to update.
2. Camera takes longer to focus especially on objects in the 12” to 24” range. You can see it swapping around between lenses.
3. Some activities “feel” slower, sluggish. It could be personal perception however I have other phones to compare it to.

Other than that, the same bugs I saw in RC are still there, especially Mail.

Overall it is running okay, very usable, just kinda buggy.

iOS 18 continues to run smoothly for me with iOS 18.3. The battery life is slightly worse in these 24 hours, but that's to be expected while background processes settle down.

App Store is unusable and iPhone no longer lets me update my apps
This was already happening on 18.2.1, I updated to 18.3 and after OTA installation behavior is the same

For the past few days iPhone has not allowed me to update any apps
If I press update on an individual app, or update all, it just sits there and spins indefinitely while my phone gets hot
The amount of apps I have awaiting to be updated is now over 230
Obviously a device restart has not resolved this
Guess I can never update any of my apps again
