iOS 18.4 Beta 1 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

@iSuzan Thanks, on my iPad it‘s 6.56 GB, so I think everything is downloaded.
Image Playground ist working now. Only some german words are not supported and a message is showing up.

With the writing tools only the correction feature ist working. When I try to rewrite a text or summarize it, this error shows up

Strange ... works for me without problems. Seems, some data is still missing? Besides restart device, deactivate/activate AI, and wait while iPhone is connected to power source I have no further ideas. :confused:

For me on iPhone 16 pro my battery melts and I have big jerks in the menus.
I think I'll go back to 18.3 very quickly
 
For the first time since 18.0 was released my ipad is displaying open iCloud tabs from my phone. The phone is on 18.3.1 and also has tabs from the ipad displayed, but those are tabs that were closed previously. The ones showing on the ipad are currently open tabs from my phone; I intentionally left several open on different sites this morning and then checked my ipad. So it looks as if something as been fixed, at least partially for iCloud tabs.

18.4 on my ipad is running with no visible issues so far, and no battery issue at all.

Yes 100%.
Not exact, but definitely screen layout.
Otherwise it wouldn’t auto size for the bazillion screen configs. i.e. rental Nissan vs wife Mercedes vs my Kia.

One issue remains with the tabs. I restarted my iPad (18.4), and the new tabs I opened on my phone were shown, but you cannot close the tabs from the iPad. Closing them there just makes them disappear, but they remain open on the phone. This may be because the phone is on 18.3.1 and the iPad 18.4. But at least open tabs are appearing for the first time. Open tabs on the iPad are not appearing on the phone, but occasionally ones that had already been closed do appear. I would expect that installing 18.4 on the phone would get all this working correctly.

My two devices are on the same 18.4 and telling a tab to close on another device does not work.
 
On non-CN variant devices and non-China mainland Apple IDs, you can enable Apple Intelligence in Simplified Chinese. However, it’s similar to the initial launch of the English AI: the initial features available are writing tools, Siri with ChatGPT, but image-related features like Create Memories and Image Playground don’t work in Chinese during this beta. Interestingly, Clean Up works in the Photos app.

Guys, your battery is never going to be as good as an Official release build. There is so much more going on in betas with unfinished code, bugs and over processing being used it’s going to take a toll somewhere.

RC will be a good indicator of battery life. No point in worrying about it or moaning about it now - if it bothers you that much then betas aren’t for you.

My safari crashed randomly, but seems pretty smooth other than that. I’ve had a ton of scrolling lag/stuttering on my 16pm pre 18.4b1, but so far so good. The screen flicker/lines in screen flickering is still here.
