So far, the first beta of iOS 15.4 is running quite well on my iPhone 15 Pro. The battery was relatively warm for a while, but that has settled down now. Let's see how it performs in the coming days.

Guys, your battery is never going to be as good as an Official release build. There is so much more going on in betas with unfinished code, bugs and over processing being used it’s going to take a toll somewhere.

RC will be a good indicator of battery life. No point in worrying about it or moaning about it now - if it bothers you that much then betas aren’t for you.
@Pearsey rightly said..beta train is unpredictable !!

This!! Crazy enough in the short time I have been using the beta the battery has been great on my 16 pro.

They must’ve fixed whatever issues there were with WiFi calling on the backend, because the VZW Wi-Fi logo has come back to my status bar after not being there yesterday.

Thank god, I have horrible Verizon service at my house. And it’s better than the alternatives.

Can‘t get the writing tools to work properly on my iPad Pro and my iPhone 16 Pro in german. On the Mac everything is running fine.
Proofread ist working on all devices. Rewrite is only working on the Mac. On iPad and iPhone I only get a message that some writing tools features aren’t available.
Deactivating and activating Apple Intelligence doesn’t work. Resetting my iPad and restoring it from Backup doesn’t help either 🤷🏼‍♂️.

OTA Update on both

Mail
Not seeing any functionality changes - same issues with badge vs auto update vs manual refresh - same ol’
Can now click on a Notification and it opens the actual email - nice
Notifications (banner) are not working - even after a hard reboot, only Lock Screen and Notification Center are showing

Podcasts
Banner notifications are finally working again however they get stuck and don’t go away unless swiped manually

Widgets - 15PM only
Borked my widgets.
Weawow Weather shows some funky language/symbol thingy
Outlook Calendar always shows “All done for today” even though I have upcoming appointments
Hard reboot and replacing widgets did not fix (see below)

Safari - iPad Only
Long lists in a tab stutter.

More to come as I get time. So far everything else I have tried is the same as 18.3.1

Yup. I thought displaying it in the island was a great use of some of that dead space.
Same here. That’s the only reason I can think that they kept the two parts of it separated instead of one solid cutout. Really hoping in a future build they revert it.

I constantly read this but I don’t think there’s ever been anything clearly indicating this or solid proof. I’ve had betas with battery life as good or better as released builds, as well as betas with crappy battery life.

What’s your wallpaper plz

I finally saw my first Priority Notification few hours ago. Ironically, it was a scam text message from +44 UK country code (I live in the US) asking me to pay a highway toll.

Beta is running pretty good on my 16PM. Image Playground, rewriting , notifications and everything is working great in German for me. What doesn’t work at all atm is Siri. Reply is empty, with or without logged in ChatGPT account. After a restart it’s the same problem :(

Am I tripping or are the camera/microphone/etc access dots in the Dynamic Island now using HDR brightness? I remember this was rumored back when the iPhone cutout leaks were happening but I don‘t think they ever were HDR. They‘re quite blinding in dark mode actually.

Also they have a new animation when removed from screen. They now scale up and make a bloop instead of subtly scaling down while fading out.
