I had a great run with iOS 18 betas myself, but to be fair I use Superhuman and sometimes Spark for email - so Mail was avoided, and just glanced at =)

Siri is absolutely terrible, but that's been the case for years. I use LLMs quite a bit, and I sure hope Apple doesn't end up digging their heads further into the ground over the future interfacing necessary to really have AI feel fantastic (watching the io buyout/merge carefully, but I think the lasting solution is a family of new approach OSs across all screens and audio devices - not just a gadget) - with local only and cloud assist by option common sense

I'm looking forward to Jony's upcoming reveal and iOS 19 and all her beautiful blunders! haha, but yah - the complaints over iOS 18 beta development are kinda wild, ths OS is fine.. and the largest problem remains: Apple missed the wave break of AI/LLM to surf just yet, and that's pretty bad for a company with so much talent in their mother-ship

Another inconsistency in Apple’s QC these days. Light icons in Settings and Dark Mode icons in iCloud storage settings. Feels like something that comes out of a startup and not a $3T company. Inconsistencies throughout.

Still getting very erratic internet connectivity on Wi-fi and 5G. Started early in 18.5 beta cycle and persisting in final release version. First major problem I have ever had. Multiple reports on Apple Feedback and still not fixed.

Couldn't it be a hardware problem at this point, that just coincidentally appeared with the upgrade? Connectivity has been flawless on all my 18.5 devices.

I don't see how anyone can NOT see the horrible notification stack animations and general glitchiness with them. Like if you try to reply to a text from the Lock Screen, the bubble shifts down and you can't see the bottom anymore.

That part is awful. Apple just needs to throw their notification center in the trash and rewrite it from scratch. Heck, even Android gets that part better (I daily drive a Samsung phone in parallel to my iPhone just to be up to date with what competition is doing, and notifications are 1000% better there).

Precisely, that may be the reason why they haven’t fixed it yet. Because they probably plan to throw the Notification Centre to the trash and rewrite a completely new one… for the upcoming iOS 19 new UI.
