I have done the same. Tried not restored from backup or iCloud and have had no discernible improvement. I’m at a loss.

At this point I am starting to wonder if there is something in my iCloud profile that’s corrupted that causes background issues. Since the problem seems to keep following me and the only constant is logging into my iCloud account. But I have no way of digging into that or testing my hypothesis without abandoning my whole iCloud account.

You may really be on to something. Or there is a bug is iOS 18 with iCloud backups. I only think this because I had been having an issue where some of my photos would not let them be sent in iMessage. I could email them, just could not send in iMessage. I think iOS 18 messed some users iCloud files up.

First day with 15PM on 18.1 public beta 4. Mix of WiFi & mobile data. Only the first day but about the same as the last few betas I’d say.

Man, crazy how your in-use battery drain mirrors my idle battery drain with battery saver on. I wish I knew what was going on.

I can’t remember, were you having issues with idle battery drain before downloading the 18.1 beta? Is there hope that 18.1 may fix some of these issues.

I have a 16 pro max and I have noticed that I have a really high screen idle time with battery drain. Currently see 3-4 hours screen active times. Cannot really work out what is consuming so much idle time. Initially it was Mail which was running in the background every night, however, removed mail and set it up again and seems to have calmed down. Also Home Screen shows high idle times.

Find My is draining my iPhone battery. Any suggestions why??
It will not help even if you turn it off. The battery drain is from within the iOS, not those surface level random apps appearing in battery usage, where you encounter full hour bar of background activities but each hour with a different app. Just turn off ProMotion and see the difference, Apple fked up ProMotion in iOS 18 that is why.

I'm not going to turn off something. Apple should fix these issues!

I wouldn't say that ProMotion is the definitive cause of the battery issues. Some people here have said they turned it off, but it didn’t change the battery drain. That said, I do believe this is an OS issue. What that issue is, who knows. Clearly not Apple.

would the fact I’m 99% be down to the 18.1 beta? I mostly charge to 80%. Would love it to go back to 100% once off the beta but doubt it. 15 PM

Your health number will never increase. How long have you been using the 18.1 beta? Betas run a lot of logging in the background, and it’s normal for the betas to produce heat. Both of these factors can significantly impact your battery life, contributing to that number going down.

Been running the 18 beta since start of June, really looking forward to a ‘stable’ version as it’s been so long. Just thought the cycle count was a bit low to be 99%. But my fault for running beta software

Yes, your cycle count is definitely low. The beta isn't the sole reason for the drop; it just contributes more significantly. We are all hoping for a stable, reliable battery version of iOS. Hopefully, that's 18.1.

Well finally gave in. 18.1 B7 is downloading now. 🙏🏻 for solid battery life. It seems others are seeing good results, so thought it worth a try.

iOS 18.1 Beta 7 is even worse. I'm downgrading to iOS 17.7 while apple is still signing it. If this doesn't work out, I'm switching to Samsung. For context, today I only listened to music for 2 hours, very light chatting with iMessage and 10 minutes of browsing in safari. Everything is disabled (location services, background apps, rise to wake, pro motion) Battery dropped from 100% to 50% in 10 hours with that use. Completely unacceptable. This is the iPhone 14 Pro with battery life at 91,4% (swapped roughly 1 year ago).
Last year with 15 Pro after many many years with iPhone I started to think about Samsung or any other brand.

Has anyone tried charging to 100% without any limits or optimized charging turned on? I'm curious if there’s a bug related to the charging limit and whether the battery is functioning correctly. This is just one of many theories.

I can't understand how some people are getting good battery life on iOS 18.
What bug?

I have the 15 PM. Upgraded to the flip 6 and lasted a week. Don’t get me wrong the handset was nice but kept thinking it’s too fragile to flip open. I also couldn’t get on with android but saying that I only gave it a week.
