My 15PM battery was charged to 100% for the first time in a while as I usually use the 80% limit. On occasion it decides to fully charge to 100% as it did here. No problem as that's what it's designed to do on occasion.

Went to bed with it sat at 99% @ 23:00. I have a shortcut that auto enabled Low Power mode, turns off mobile data and Bluetooth. Wi-Fi is still active.

Checked it this morning and battery is at 95% @ 07:30. I haven't even touch the phone during the night.

Battery health is at 100%.

4% in 8 1/2 hours without even being handled is poor in my estimation. FWIW I have running 18.0.1 since release so I think all the reindexing etc should have ceased by now.

I hope 18.1 is better for battery life.
My idle loss overnight was similar on 18.0.1 ... about 6% per night. Not saying it is related... but yesterday I switched off NameDrop and on my Watch app toggled off download recent music to Apple Watch. At 80% when I went to bed I woke 8 hrs later with a 1% drop.
Let's see how idle loss is during the day now... fingers crossed.

Sadly I don't have either of those enabled anyway.

4% idle drain in 8 1/2 hrs is quite normal

Do you have an Apple Watch connected?

I do, but just like Stiille I said that my battery drain is extremely excessive for that to make a significant difference. None of the previous fixes for iOS work on this battery issue on iOS 18. Those of us with this issue have tried all the battery tricks.

ditto... I tried loads of things over past 4 weeks but today definitely better... whatever I did. 80% 10pm last night and now 68% (13:30) with only light usage since 9am. I did toggle carrier from 5G Auto to 4G and then flicked it back... probably nothing but you try every trick in the book don't you.

That’s interesting! I flipped that toggle a month ago, but I didn’t notice any significant changes.

Installed iOS 18.1 on my 15 PM yesterday morning. Today so far my battery dropped 10% after removing it from charging less than an hour ago. I’m watching the battery percentage drop a percent every few minutes with light usage. Battery dropped 2% just typing this message.

Additionally if I go into the battery and select an hour block, all the apps show a dash (no percentage) which normally means they aren’t having a noticeable impact on battery life.

I am not trolling anyone. Here is a picture. Same amount of battery use that Carlsberg69 had, but 3 hours less SOT. Same iPhone 16 pro. There is something very wrong here. Carls says he runs his phone just like he always has, not turning off settings, but using the phone to its full potential.

There are some core iOS problems here. This isn’t a matter of settings.
That's ~9.5 hours of screen on time. Over a full work day of doing nothing but running the phone. That seems pretty good?

They're showing dashes because the hour isn't over yet.

9 hours? That’s less than 2 hours. I didn’t take a picture of the final result, but I ended the day with just over 4 hours of SOT remaining, with 14% left. So, at most, I would get 5 hours of SOT. That’s not good at all.

Since going from RC to Public it's been a bit rough, but strangely this time I don't see the same message I got when updating to the RC about background activity. Maybe it's a bug?

I’ve not updated to iOS 18 yet, I’m still on 17… iPhone 15PM. I’m very reliably getting 10 hours SOT (calculated, not actual, I don’t use my phone for 10 hours a day). By 50% I always have at least 5 hours SOT, so anything worse than this I know there’s something wrong.

Not sure I dare update from what I’m seeing atm

After restarting the device, I get the message now in settings about increased background activity. Guess it didn't realize it updated again until it rebooted.

Comparing 18.0.1 with 18.1 in my 14 pro the battery became much worse … literally I had zero issues since the beginning of 18 and now it goes down for no obvious reasons without changing anything… I hope they will fix this … anyone else ?
