I think in such case the ~70 $/€ are totally worth it to get the battery replaced. Still a nice phone with the soft-rounded sides.
Edit: Ok seems to be 99-109€ currently in Germany for these models. Damn Apple.
Yeah, the prices have gone up. I remember changing the battery on the phone I had before the 11 (iPhone 6S) and paid under €30 as it was part of Apple's "battery gate" settlement. Shame there isn't another one!

Edit: Fr.85 / €90 here in Switzerland. It's always a shock when something's cheaper here :). (It's due to our lower vat/mwst.)

Standby mode "Turn off screen never" option broken in this release. Anyone else having that issue?

Anyone else having issues adding the same App to multiple pages on your Home Screen? When I add the App a second time, the first one goes missing.

Wasn’t it like that the whole time?

Works OK here..

I’m on the same page as the others that don’t worry about it. I’ve never had issues and if I do, I’ll get a new battery or phone. I’m not going to twist myself in knots about saving a tiny bit of battery life.

So far everything is running well except my favorite "weather geek" app---"My Radar"!!! I'm going through withdrawal as I can't see cold fronts in real time!! 🤣

EDIT---uninstall then reinstall seemed to fix it!!! Did you know there's a stalled front off the East coast--- :)

I keep having a bug on my Lock Screen AOD where the Dynamic Island doesn’t stretch out like it should, so I see the black border around where it’s supposed to be, a gap with my wallpaper showing through, and then the Dynamic Island in its smallest form in the center.

Can’t take a screenshot because it’s only when my screen is locked.

Yes. I added an app to a page and the copy of it I had on a different page disappeared.

Just found a new bug. My status bar clock is different from everywhere else on the system (Clock app, widgets, even the Lock Screen). It’s just one minute behind.

Picking yup yesterday's dilemma where I've installed iOS 18.1 without any backup.

Started to think; what do you actually loose if you do a reset to go bank to iOS 17?
All the photos and messages are synced to the computer through iCloud. I know the apps had to be installed over again, and no one likes to organize dozens of apps into folders, but you don't loose any vital info?

The only thing I guess would be a problem, is that the photos and messages won't sync back from the computer to the phone. Or...?

As long as you have pictures, bookmarks, passwords and messages etc synced to iCloud you should be fine. The pictures and messages will download as you need them / in the background. Emails will be on your email providers server.

It’s just a pain to reinstall all your apps, have to log into them again and setup your layout/Home Screen.

Thanks a lot 🙂
Du you know if messages are synced back to the phone?

I completely re-install iOS and start fresh without a backup pretty frequently. The hardest part is logging in to all of your apps again. I have just over 100 Apps and it takes several hours to log in to all of them.

Same, I do it at the start of every new beta, a little annoying but usually everything is good.

I buy a new iPhone every year and always set it up as a new phone without using backups or anything. I also only have 11 third party apps, so that’s absolutely no problem at all.

Currently on 18.1 now but, because I’ll be setting up my brand new iPhone 16 with 18.0 installed on it from scratch, I have zero concerns.

Great! If downloading apps, logging in and sorting them is the only downside from doing a complete re-install, then it's even more tempting just to see if the battery gets a boost!
And seriously... This will almost be a fun job compared to every other phone I have to set up every now and then ☺️

Ohhh... Damn. Just hit me that I have like 50 things on my Bluetooth list 😅. I blame my job...

I do enjoy wiping my phone and setting up it from scratch every now and then. Kinda fun.
