Any problems when I'm running beta software on my Apple Watches? Guess it's possible to reinstall the software on them as well.
No, that’s not possible, you have to send it to apple or maybe Apple Store will be enough.Any problems when I'm running beta software on my Apple Watches? Guess it's possible to reinstall the software on them as well.
Thanks. This was useful! No, that’s not possible, you have to send it to apple or maybe Apple Store will be enough.
That was the reason, why I needed to install iOS 18 beta on my brand new 15PM, because before I had 13 Pro with my watch 8 on watchOS 11 beta…
Sorry to say that, if you want a functioning watch you have to reinstall iOS 18 beta!
I will remember this for future betas. Stay with my watch on official releases and only iPhone gets beta.
But you still want iOS 18 beta if I remember correctly, right? So no problem there, just downgrade to iOS 17.6.1 and after that install iOS 18 beta 7 dev or beta 5 public
Yes, because when you downgrade your iPhone to iOS 17 you have to wipe it. And set it as new device.Thanks. This was useful!
So, I can ring iOS 17 on my iPhone, and still use it with my Apple Watch, but only if I upgrade up iOS 18 beta?
Thanks, but what? I already run ios 18.1 dev beta. Was there an option to install ios 18.0 dev beta? And, could I still connect to my AW if I just run the ios 18 public beta?Yes, because when you downgrade your iPhone to iOS 17 you have to wipe it. And set it as new device.
Therefore the watch won’t connect with your iPhone - until you install iOS 18 beta on your iPhone.
Would recommend installing iOS 18 dev beta 7!
Reply when you’ve done the downgrade + installing dev beta !
Good luck 😊
Are you asking if you stay on 17.XX on your phone and Beta your watch or putting Betas on both? I have IOS beta 7 18 and Watch OS 11 beta and all works normal---except battery still sucks on my watch.Any problems when I'm running beta software on my Apple Watches? I wonder if I can run ios 18 public beta(in the newest version) and Watch OS 11 in beta together. Are you asking if you stay on 17.XX on your phone and Beta your watch or putting Betas on both? I have IOS beta 7 18 and Watch OS 11 beta and all works normal---except battery still sucks on my watch.
Ok first, no you have to go back to iOS 17.6.1! -> set up as new phoneThanks, but what? I already run ios 18.1 dev beta. Was there an option to install ios 18.0 dev beta? And, could I still connect to my AW if I just run the ios 18 public beta?
That should make no difference at all!I wonder if I can run ios 18 public beta(in the newest version) and Watch OS 11 in beta together.
The most important is to get rid of the developer beta so that I, hopefully, can install the official iOS 18 on my current phone before I get the new iPhone.
If that made any sense..
(I'm impressed how incredible helpful and nice you all are here 🙌).
Thanks again. And it will automatically download the best official version when I restore from my Mac now? My iPhone is like just a "plug the cable in" from beginning the process. That should make no difference at all!
First of all downgrade and then install the public iOS 18 beta and you’re good to go!
You need to go into DFU Mode - google it.Thanks again. And it will automatically download the best official version when I restore from my Mac now? My iPhone is like just a "plug the cable in" from beginning the process.
Thanks. I'll try.You need to go into DFU Mode - google it.
And then over the finder in your Mac revert to iOS 17.6.1
I don’t have a Mac, so just google it.
But I believe zollotech did a YouTube Video on it
Good luck and report back if everything worked outThanks. I'll try.
Thanks a lot 🙂Good luck and report back if everything worked out
You’re welcome!Thanks a lot 🙂
I'm on it now. Have to use the Pixel 9 Pro in the meantime. That's interesting...
And again, thanks so much for all your help 🙏
I didn't have to do that...I was on 17.5 and my watch was on OS 10.XX---I went to 18.0 Beta and my watch was fully functional on OS10.XX---later on I updated the watch to OS beta 11 in hopes battery life would be better...it wasn't.Ok first, no you have to go back to iOS 17.6.1! -> set up as new phone
Then install iOS 18 beta public or dev beta, what you more prefer.
Then you can connect your watch again to your iPhone.
Everything’s worked out?Thanks a lot 🙂

By then 18.1 may have more betas available and be ok. Then you can update your iP16 rest from your backup (the one you are going to make
Wow ok so NOW get a backup of 17.6.1 and archive it. THEN you will have options going forward to upgrade, downgrade, or whatever you want to do.I'll install it tonight 🙂
Pretty tired now after this operation...
Will try to reconnect my Apple Watch tomorrow. And all the other dozens of watches and earbud
