Issue since beta 6, at least that I noticed, is using pics and iMessage. If I go into photos and share a pic with someone in my contacts, it opens as normal but puts the cursor after their name. I already had a name chosen, so the cursor should be in the message section to say something.

Also, 14 PM still gets slightly hot during certain usage.

I've seen this behavior as well. Very annoying. However I can't always repeat it. I tried it twice in a row now, the first time, it put the cursor after the recipient's name. The second time I tried it, it put the cursor in the message field, like you'd expect.

I had this issue as well. While in photos app, I sent a pic to my wife. Then I wanted to send another picture to my second phone. Because I was in photos app when I clicked on the photo to send it automatically selected my wife to send.

I’ve also noticed an issue when opening the Messages app and typing a “draft” without hitting the Send button.

Normally, you could close the Messages app and do other things on the phone and the “draft” would still be sitting there when you opened the Messages app again, but now you’re forced to type the text again because it’s gone when you return to it.

(I’m on 18.1 so that could potentially be fixed in this beta)

Oh… has the bright keyboard in dark mode bug been fixed?

If this is the last beta.. then invites should coming out this week. Event and RC build on September 3rd. iPhone preorders on September 6. iOS 18 release date of sept 11. iPhone release date of sept 13.

I hope this isn’t the case as September 11 isn’t a good day… and Friday the 13th sounds like bad luck.
The iPhone will not release that early. It comes out September 20th, with preorders more than likely starting on the 13th.

No way!! I’m in PA and it’s 67 degrees and a nice breeze…drink on the deck!

On topic…I’m solid on the last beta how is this one?
Yes on the weather (PA vs Phoenix, at least in the summer. We don't have to shovel anything in the winter and can still be comfortable in shorts and flip-flops)...

and yes on the beta... so far, DP7 is solid. No heat issues to report, no issues at all for me, so far... and battery hasn't been horrible, even with the re-indexing activities.

One thing that I did notice with DP7 is that I didn't get the "Some items cannot be synched with iCloud" warning this time... those alerts were present in DP5 and DP6... the fix was simple - entering the iCloud password and my Mac password, but it didn't happen with DP7.

Does Focus status get communicated to Android users via RCS?

For example, "So-and-so has notifications silenced. Notify anyway?"

Still no way to mute a video being watched within a text message thread? Figured they’d have fixed that by now…

I still haven't got the new beta and are running on 18.1.
Is it something I can to accelerate the process?

Where are you trying to go? You cannot "update" from 18.1 beta to 18.0 beta... need to go DFU and restore via computer.

If you're looking for a new 18.1 beta, it's not out yet.
Thanks. I thought the beta was that was released yesterday was newer.

Good to hear it's reasonably stable. Honestly I'm more interested in Watch OS 11 - really looking forward to having maps for workouts, vitals, auto sleep detection. Need to move to iOS 18 to use it though.
As an aside, I’m actually I’m on Watch OS 11 beta alongside iOS 18 too. The new build on that feels like the first great one. I’m wearing it almost all day - feels close to bug free.

Previously there was a bug where notifications weren’t clearing but that’s fixed in the latest.

I’m on the latest regular Apple Watch.

Yeah this happens to me too - it’s very annoying. I actually think it might not be a bug though - it feels like an updated pattern in the UX.

Apple may be assuming that the user wants to add more ‘receivers’ to the message prior to writing. In my case, this is almost always incorrect.

I can live with this but it will require retraining my interaction pattern which will take a while.

Really dissapointed that they regressed on the Recent call list and went back to how it was .
I’m surprised by how many complaints we have about ‘the recent call list’. Who on earth actually makes phone calls anymore? I thought the world had largely moved on from that 📞

Must be a bit like vinyl records - still in use but just not the mainstream.

I think I have, at most, 1 call per week and that’s with my mum. Don’t particularly need a strong recents list for just 1 person.

What’s the use case for having multiple people in the recents list - you guys running a call centre from your iPhone? 🤪

I usually download the betas on my daily drivers. In the last years. This year I wasn’t sure and I still haven’t tried the betas. What would you say? Can I use it on the 13 Pro Max or should I still wait?
