Noticed I got this further down in a new window. After clicking ”Turn on” it appears to work ok. Looks like a privacy thing. View attachment 2430143
That is already turned on. Without it being turned on, it is obvious that no iCloud tabs will show up- even after force closing the Safari app and reopening it.

Even after turning it on, one needs to force close the Safari app and then reopen it to view the iCloud tabs from other devices.

This happens on all Apple devices using same Apple account- macOS, iPadOS, iOS.

Can agree on this being a hassle, not sure I would call it a bug though.

I created a separate thread about this on a couple forums as well as making several posts in this thread. Only a few replies so I think few use iCloud tabs, or gave up on them because of inconsistent behavior in the past. But I found they worked very well in ios 17 and not at all in 18 unless, as you found you force-quit Safari, or restart the device. Frequently when I’ve restarted the device I will get that “Turn On” message even though that’s been turned on for years.

I believe it is a bug and reported it as such, as it actually works; the open tabs from another device are there but can only be viewed when force quit or after a device restart. Frustratingly, I also reported a Mail server bug that got no replies but on Feedback Assistant the AppleSeed guys have listed it as a bug with multiple complaints. The iCloud tabs report has generated…crickets.

Any response from Appleseed on the iCloud tab bug report submitted by you?
What is the mail server bug ?

That’s all fine but the newest iOS rolls out features that make a year old phone useless.

iPhone 15 buyers got royally screwed and I’m one of them.

Thanks both! I understand this better now, sorry if I haven’t followed this previously. As you say, are not using open iCloud tabs that much…

Like I said…crickets. The Mail server issue also started with ios 18 and occurred multiple times a day every day when, at the bottom of the message list, a connection error for one or the other of my iCloud accounts would be shown and messages in that account were not downloaded even though they were downloaded on my other device and appeared properly on iCloud.com. When tapping on details in that error message I would see Cannot Connect To Server. Most days the issue would clear in a short amount of time but one day I couldn’t get messages for a couple hours in the account. When I checked my report submission in Feedback Assistant it was indicated that multiple reports had been received and a fix was in the works. They must have fixed it as I haven’t seen this now for several days. But the iCloud Tabs report shows no similar reports.

iOS 18 so far? Bad experience on 14 Pro Max. Phone is sluggish as hell. In general iOS 18 fells overloaded, like one iOS stacked on another with huge mess everywhere. It heavy, hard to use just messy as hell! Photos app mess, buttons in CC for audio control while FaceTime or any VOIP app- mess, settings-mess-Tips app with no new tips, features that are hard to discover so most people don't know about their existence, camera app-mess, safari-mess. This UI language of apple is terrible, lots of wasted space like in maps with hudge search bar, in photos, search option placed in the worst spot possible. In general, I dont like iOS anymore, company that has so much money to deliver top notch UI and features from day one, struggles to deliver basic AI features at launch laying to people about super dopy features. For my second phone I use Pixel 8A ant its so clean unlike apple. And so far the worst thing in the system is this Flashlight! It came out of nowhere

iOS 17.x and older - charging my iPhone 13 Pro using a Xiaomi 4-port charging brick and Apple 2 meters long Lightning cable takes about 3 hours

iOS 18.0 - charging my iPhone 13 Pro using a Xiaomi 4-port charging brick and Apple 2 meters long Lightning cable takes about almost 12 hours and shows orange/amber bar on Settings --> Battery which indicates slow charging

I've had the same set up [same brick and cable] but I'm not sure why the amount of time to charge to 100% has changed...

I did not update to iOS 18.0.1 and just downgraded to iOS 17.7
