I personally like the camera and flashlight shortcuts being there, but I know not everyone doesplease for the love of god take the camera shortcut off the lockscreen / or at very least let us disable it without having to root the phone.
Whew, so good thing I upgraded from my XR when I didMost likely iOS 18 will not support iPhone Xs, Xs Max and Xr. So since I am still using an iPhone Xs Max, I will not care about what Apple has planned for iOS 18. I am planning on waiting for an iPhone 17 Pro.
Me tooNooooo I use this shortcut all the time!
Haha, I can't wait to see the video that someone makes of WWDC but all the times AI is mentioned (just like years ago with the introduction of 5G)Biggest update ever:
- a new animation in music app
- smarter Siri
- AI, AI, AI
… we’re very proud of iOS 18. It’s magical, it’s the best iOS we’ve ever made.
Thanks for your attention.
Yup, now that I hear you onthe flashlight is more annoying than the camera shortcut, it's so easy to activate it just by holding the phone
BullseyeBoth Apple and Google messed up by not pushing an open messaging standard like RCS much sooner. They’ve allowed WhatsApp (and WeChat, Line, etc) to dominate messaging in much of the world.
Even with RCS it may be a slow hard grind to claw back eyeballs from dominant messaging apps in many countries.
It’s all about software development marketing beginning at WWDC annually. With all the EU changes and possibly adding AI and RCS messaging Apple can’t just do it once every two years and foget about it. Windows 12 is also expected late 2024 so not the year you don’t have things comparable.I really wish they would take a "snow leopard" cycle for both iOS and MacOS to streamline, fix bugs, reduce size, etc.
Why do we need a "breakthrough upgrade" every year?
Fun fact, you can attach multiple quotes to one postBullseye
Even though RCS will fix the gripe that plagues iPhone-Android individual or group messages in lower quality images/video and reactions sending a whole message about said reaction, I think it's too late to turn back the clock in places where messaging apps (WhatsApp in Europe, WeChat in China, etc) where they've become all too commonplace for them
Yup, now that I hear you on
So much so that some I know with iPhones accidentally activate their flashlight without knowing it and I have to point out to them that they accidentally turned it on when I see a light from their pocket
Because they need to sell and they need to attract new customers too, including those looking to switch from Android.I really wish they would take a "snow leopard" cycle for both iOS and MacOS to streamline, fix bugs, reduce size, etc.

The issue is these apps don't really give much confidence. I would always choose iMessage and FaceTime for my communication than WhatsApp, for example. Especially considering the latter is owned by Meta.Bullseye

I personally don't ever see any of that happening in my lifetime but I agree with all of those points.I think iOS 18.0 could be FAR bigger than anyone anticipates. I see the following:
1. Seamless integration of the ability to sideload apps.
2. GSMA standard RCS text message support.
3. Seamless integration of multiple app stores, all under the App Store app.
4. Open access to the NFC functionality.
5. Ability to choose which web layout engine to use (Apple Webkit, Google Blink or Mozilla Gecko) universally.
6. New Headphones app not only for Apple and Beats wireless headphones, but also the ability to load controls for third-party wireless headphones from Sony, Bose, Sennheiser, and so on.
7. Redone Notifications center with configurable controls.
All of these changes will apply worldwide, not just in the EU.
