How do we know that, since 18.1 is a unique point release to introduce AI for hardware qualified hardware for devs across iOS/iPadOS/MacOS?
MacRumors is only comparing 18.1 to previous years, but it’s not the same goal of a follow up to 18.0 because it discriminates by hardware requirements and brand new functionality?

With iOS 18.0 set for a release in September, the expectation is that iOS 18.1 and these features will be released in October. Here’s a timeline of when Apple has released previous point-one updates:

That is a guess, or expectation. We know AI will be in beta for some time as stuff gets added, and there is supposely a first public beta available after the iPhone show. But this isn’t just related to only iPhones, it’s across their product lines. So when you say Apple wants to have it out by mid to end of October, who know with this weird 18.0 vs 18.1 pairing? We know something follows 18.0 but what exactly?
