How do we know that, since 18.1 is a unique point release to introduce AI for hardware qualified hardware for devs across iOS/iPadOS/MacOS?

MacRumors is only comparing 18.1 to previous years, but it’s not the same goal of a follow up to 18.0 because it discriminates by hardware requirements and brand new functionality?

With iOS 18.0 set for a release in September, the expectation is that iOS 18.1 and these features will be released in October. Here’s a timeline of when Apple has released previous point-one updates:

———-
That is a guess, or expectation. We know AI will be in beta for some time as stuff gets added, and there is supposely a first public beta available after the iPhone show. But this isn’t just related to only iPhones, it’s across their product lines. So when you say Apple wants to have it out by mid to end of October, who know with this weird 18.0 vs 18.1 pairing? We know something follows 18.0 but what exactly? :D:eek:
I hope we will see 18.1 somewhere in the beginning of October. I want to start my Japan trip with a fresh new iPhone 16 model and 18.1

Will my watch have issues pairing on iPhone 16 release ? I have watchOS 11 beta and iPhone 18.o beta

Btw where is watch beta my battery is bad atm

i am very surprised! They really have a lot of work to do with WatchOS 11. They need both another beta before the RC.
If you look at the SDK notes there is very little in the way of unresolved issues. Sometimes Apple just doesn't release another beta because there is no need. tvOS seeds sometimes miss as another example.

Hopefully there comes a watchOS beta 8 !
The battery on my S8 is quite bad
I had the same issues and was able to resolve some of it by disabling cellular and turning off music downloads on Spotify. It's still not as strong as it was on WatchOS10 but better. Hoping B8 or RC fixes it.

Such as? I don't have any issues with WatchOS 11.
Battery had been not great at all on beta 7, when I have live activities going, switching from that and the watch face every complication has to reload. Some shuttering in just the overall UI. Does not seem polished at all.

Yeah I just feel like beta 7 isn’t polished. The animations are real smooth, and there is some real lag when complications load in from the widgets screen. Seems like beta 7 was worse than beta 6. Battery life hasn’t been good for any of the watch betas.

Hopefully the RC really squares things away for battery life. I know my Ultra will take some hit with watchOS 11 over 10, but not a 10 to 20% hit depending on the day.

Will I have trouble paring my watch to iPhone 16 on release ? Because I have watchOS 11 beta installed ?

No, you shouldn’t. The 16s will come with iOS 18.0, which is compatible with watchOS 11. If an iPhone is running iOS 17.x, then the watch won’t be able to pair if it’s running watchOS 11.
