I hope Apple would release the next beta of 18.1 today as well. I know it probably won’t happen (I even feel like Wednesday is more likely than tomorrow, don’t know why), but it would be nice if they released it today with the event.

And, to be honest, I have been issues on the latest iOS 18.1 beta - the iPhone stops recognising touch input within apps and I have to force-close them and reopen. It has become quite annoying.

I was hoping for the RC release today as well, as my battery life has become awful over the past 3-4 days. Also, the keyboard freezes for a few seconds from time to time. The weird thing with the battery life, if I charge in the middle of the day for 20 minutes or so, the battery life seems to last a lot longer from that point on...make sense?

RC or Final release.

If you can, after all this beta action on your phones, try and instal using the IPSW file.
It will give your phone a fresh full instal, which will sort out any small little connectivity, battery and performance niggles.

Instructions found on page 1 or every iOS 18 beta forum at the top called: GUIDE How to Instal.

My guess is pre orders for the new Apple Watches and AirPods but the iPhones will be Friday.

Also, they will be launching all the new accessories today (like every year)

Will we find out today the pre order date for iPhone 16?

It's Apple's dumb little marketing gimmick to shut down the Apple store. There is absolutely no reason for a trillion dollar tech company to need to shut down their entire site in 2024.
Agree I thought the same

is release canidate the NON beta version? THE OFFICIAL 18.0 release? should i turn beta mode off? for updates
The RC usually is the final beta before the software is released to general public. If you’re wanting to jump off the beta ‘train’ wait for the general release before switching off beta updates. Doesn’t happen often but sometimes there’s changes to the RC.

Is it the same procedure as with the betas? Or it’s just like installing a final version IPSW? I’m asking this because I tried doing a Finder install/restore of the beta and I wasn’t able to. However I’ve performed many ”clean installs” in the past without issues…

Is not the huge RC file (likely to be around 6+GB for all) essentially the same as that IPSW file we would need to download? If so, perhaps it’s worth it to just try this big OTA first and, should things go wrong, go the IPSW route?

Most likely you could not do it because you were missing the latest X-code beta or “MobileDevice.pkg” contained in it on your Mac.
