Not always. iOS 17.0 RC was 21A329 and then the public build released was
021A331 (2 builds ahead). 3 days later we received 17.0.1, which was 21A340 (9 builds ahead). Further interesting is that last years’ new iPhones were released to consumers on a different version of iOS 17 with 21A327, likely because software was installed before the software was finalized since it was “older” than the RC.

21A331 was only released for the then new iPhone 15 series.
All „older“ phones got 21A329 as the release version of 17.0, same build as the RC. ;)

Still probably best to install it as an IPSW file to clear out the kludge from beta season
No possibility to use a computer/Mac right now.
Have to go to the Apple Store for it, I will if it does not get better, but for that I have to wait for the official release of iOS 18, otherwise iOS 17.6.1 will be installed instead of iOS 18

But maybe the RC over OTA is enough !

A little hardware/software speculation here: they will add a long press feature to the Action button so it can do more than one thing without the need for a shortcut.

This would be a great addition. Never was a big fan of it only being able to do one thing. Short and long press always made more sense.

And there will be a new charge to exactly 82.3% charge limit exclusive to the 16 series. The absolute perfect number for charging

Funnily enough, on iPhone 15 iOS 18 told me that based on my particular usage pattern it recommends that I charge it to 85% and put a green mark there on that 80-100% charging line. No funny business! 😉

I think technically, the action button is already a long press so you don't activate it by accident. A short tap today shows you the notification to hold it down longer.

A double/triple press would be great to call different functions, like back-tap. But, I think they would've added it the betas so I think the action button is done for iOS 18.

Maybe they'll supercharge the new 16's capture button.

Not sure I agree. Since they’re adding it to all the new phones it gives them an opportunity to discuss it during the event.

We will see, I will be hopping of the beta train tomorrow after installing the RC on my 15 PM - hoping for some better battery life then
is release canidate the NON beta version? THE OFFICIAL 18.0 release? should i turn beta mode off? for updates
