There is always a reason. We just don’t know what it is. For all we know, this is in the grand schedule.
I think for sure we get beta 6 or RC tomorrow at 1. Will remain to be seen what they do with 18.0.1 if that doesn't come at 4 today I'll find it interesting

I do think something is up. Normally I dismiss that sort of thing but Exhibit A of that thinking is the fact that we don’t yet have a functioning iPadOS for the M4s - 15 days after launch.

If we think 18.1 RC is coming soon I’ll likely just install that instead of 18.0.1. If I’m not mistaken the RCs don’t have the typical beta logging stuff which leads to eventual instability in my experience. I was happy to finally be on a stable release again.

If we will get 18.0.1 it feels like it will be the biggest X.X.X update in Software history with that wait time

Agree! I just hope we’re not disappointed again. Apple need to be more open. Acknowledge issues and update tech media on a future fix.

Are we all returning our 16 series phones if 18.0.1 doesn't fix the touch issues tonight? 🤣

This might definitely be a good sign!! Wonder what imminent means… today?

I'd still take all of this with a grain of salt. If 18.0.1 was needed, we would have seen it already, and historically by now. I think the main concern has been getting iPadOS 18 out for the new iPads. I'd assume that any delay is tied to getting 18.0.1 ready and out the door for ALL iDevices. Not seeing any 18.1 betas for iOS or iPadOS yesterday, too, seems 'odd'.

I'd also add that a lot of folks have the ability to view website analytics, and although there may be some Apple folks testing this internally, it doesn't necessarily mean it's imminent.
