Dude, it’s been one week since 18.3 public release. What exactly would be the reason for an 18.3.1 release? 18.3 can’t have had that many bugs, it barely added anything new over 18.2… Apple rarely ever releases a .1 update only a week after public release. Pushing 18.4 beta testing back makes zero sense at this point, there’s no compelling argument for it.
I’m talking about support for the invites app. I’m sure they’re going to add calendar integration or something.

If anything they will not release anything else today to not steal the press spotlight from themselves.
I disagree. Just because it doesn’t require iOS 18.4 doesn’t mean that it’s less likely that iOS 18.4 will drop today. Today is when we would normally expect Apple to drop the next beta, and an early-day announcement like this often trails ahead of a new beta.

While I don't rule out 18.4 Beta 1 coming out today, I don't think the Invites app gives any indication one way or the other. It's an independent app, already launched, that doesn't rely on the new software. We'll see what happens later today.

I hope 18.4 comes today. But I’ve been beta testing iPhones for 13 years, and one thing I learned is the more patient you are, the faster it feels the updates come out. I set my expectations on the floor.

I'm so annoyed with iOS 18.3 that I'll probably jump on iOS 18.4 Beta 1 with the hope for a bit of polish to iron out all the micro stutters and lag that pop up sporadically on my 16 Plus.

FYI, 18.4 will likely use more resources and ram. Apple Intelligence will be monitoring your screen and the personal context stuff.

Apple, if you drop it today I promise I’ll use the Invites app
I’ve already found use for it!

Anyone want to join?

I’m not going to dismiss a release today until we’re at least 15 minutes past 10:00 Cupertino time. I think it has to drop this week though in order for the planned public release in April and the beta schedule they will likely want to follow for this update.
