What do want to know that we are paid developers on Apple Developer? Sure there are a lot of us present, and our frustration is the same. Devs need to know first if the point release security or changes has made something not work.
What I am saying is the majority of the people complaining are not paid developers... Since Apple now lets anyone setup using the developer betas, everyone wants to get in on the latest features. Those of us that actually need the betas to test and validate are not the ones complaining 😃 We know Apple will release the beta when they are ready to, not on a schedule or when we want them too. I for one am happy to be on a public release version for the longest time that I can remember and not have to deal with beta bugs, let alone beta 1 bugs. It feels kind of nice 😃

And what if Apple announces new AI features on VisionOS like he said?
I think we can safely assume Apple will add Apple Intelligence features to VisionOS, it doesn’t require a prophet to guess that, lol! 😂. Everyone basically knows that Apple will add Apple Intelligence features to one of their most expensive and newest products which has a chip that can obviously run such features… So that obviously doesn’t mean anything for Gurman’s credibility…

Apple Intelligence is not on VisionOS right now. In any way, shape, or form. Apple hasn’t announced anything about Apple Intelligence on VisionOS.

So if they make an announcement a week after Gurman reported about it… maybe it’s a lucky guess. But I disagree.

I figured it was safe to assume nothing is happening until after whatever they're unveiling tomorrow.
No one is safe from Apple decisions are they?

Just released: iOS 18.4bSpanishInquisition

As if this is not clear that would be happening at some point... even the cheapest devices will be getting "AI" to boost the hype, why wouldn't the most expensive one get it too?
Correct, but Apple Intelligence wasn’t announced as part of visionOS 2. It would be one thing if Gurman said Apple Intelligence is coming in visionOS 3, I wouldn’t think anything of that. But if he’s specifically saying they plan on releasing it in visionOS 2.4, and Apple announces it a week later, Gurman gets points from me for that.

I just want to point out, Gurman reported that the new Siri with app actions and on screen awareness would delayed until Spring 2025, all the way back in July last year-

Click on the Mark Gurman tag at the bottom of the article, then look back at all the reports from the past few years. Then tell me how inaccurate he is.

outside of the possibility of 18.4 mentioning that new hardware. I don't see the connection.
There isn't any obvious connection. I just kept my expectations low since Tim mentioned Wednesday. (I don't think that's the only possible day either)

On the other hand Gurman says they're going to unveil Apple Intelligence for Vision Pro and a beta to go along with that at some point this week and betas are usually all released at the same time. There could be something to that?

It’s an obvious guess. Since they haven’t announced the iPhone 17 yet, does anyone seriously think it won’t support Apple Intelligence??? If Mark Gurman says the iPhone 17 will support Apple Intelligence, that wouldn’t be a real test of his accuracy. Neither is the Vision Pro, one of Apple’s most expensive and newest products that will obviously get Apple Intelligence at some point…

And Apple also didn’t say at the time that Apple Intelligence would be coming to the iPhone 16 lineup, but it was extremely obvious… There are usually many things that Apple doesn’t officially clarify at the WWDC, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t obvious deductions…

In that very article you linked, he claimed it would come in iOS 18.4. What he’s now claiming is it has been “delayed” for iOS 18.5. So no, it is not the same consistent claim going all the way back to July of last year. They’re two very different claims.

As I have explained on numerous occasions, his credibility seems to have dramatically plummeted in the last couple of years as Apple has done a much better job of quashing leaks.

iPhone 16 wasn’t announced yet. Come on.

And the point I’m making is that Apple doesn’t have to specify every device that will end up supporting the features, and nor do they. It doesn’t take a prophet with the ability to see the future to guess that obviously Apple will add Apple Intelligence to one of their most expensive and newest products with a chip that obviously can support the features…

Ok, fair enough. But Gurman does have credibility, there’s no denying that objectively

Just a couple examples of very specific reports by him, that he was the first to report on.

Come on - you have to get a Beta 1 from time to time. It’s good to know how Android users feels all the time 😂

And I could also whip out a couple links for things he was wrong on. Like this latest beta. His timeline was clearly wrong…. I didn’t say he lacks any level of credibility, but his credibility has taken many hits in the last couple of years. I’ve noticed a fairly dramatic decline in his accuracy. And if he was just honest and said “hey sorry guys, I guess I had bad info and I was wrong” instead of “Apple delayed it”, I think people would be a bit more forgiving about it as well.

Credibility is trust.
The other person said Gurman cannot always be trusted.
That's subjective, not objective.
Fair enough. But his accuracy has been measured in objective ways

A couple years outdated, but you get the idea. It’s someone’s right to not trust someone with a 86.5% accurate track record. Sure.

Exactly! 👍🏻. It’s not like I’ve said “I hate Mark Gurman and he’s an evil dude who will always sell you down the river” or something like that. I said I take his predictions with a heavy dose of salt because he’s often been wrong, like he just was about the beta timing…

See the text I highlighted in your post. That’s exactly the problem for me. He was generally more accurate a couple years ago, but now I believe his accuracy is a lot more hit or miss. I’ve noticed a decline, and I caution people to not get their hopes up too much based on his predictions because of things like this beta he was just wrong about…

I’ll continue trusting his reporting, but you do you 👍
