Very interesting. Maybe there’s still hope for a beta release later today, or possibly tomorrow! 👍🏻 Do I dare be hopeful? I do think it’s notable that XCode referenced an 18.4 beta, I think that is usually a pretty reliable indicator of a beta coming soon. So perhaps there’s still some hope.

Why the 'm', 't', & 'u' suffixes? That's a long ways to work towards 'a'. The betas for point releases usually start around 'f', 'g', 'h', 'i'.
And shouldn't the rest of the build number be different for each one? I don't think I've seen the same build number have different grades before.

Explains why it's been delayed... They've had to go back and rebuild it several times..... That's of course if these leaks are to be believed.
They’re just different build compilations, with further iterations going farther down the alphabet. More compilations isn’t always a bad thing.
No surprise there if they had to remove features originally planned.
I think the most exciting thing about this for me is that it gives those features in the Music app discovered by 9to5Mac even more authenticity.
Apple Music updates are desperately needed.

frustrating and disappointing because 18.3 is still a mess - full of bugs that i have experienced
and its gonna be awhile for those to get fixed if there is nothing till 18.4 goes public
sure we might get a 18.3.2 but it wont fix much if anything - expecting just security and small bug fixes at most

Well, I won’t completely write off a release tomorrow, but I think Apple’s going to break the x.4 beta on Thursday trend this year. I don’t see them waiting all the way until next Thursday. I think we might get the beta tomorrow, but more likely Monday or Tuesday next week.

Yes, but now we are closer to the final release window. Wait too much longer, and you’ll have a very short beta cycle. If we begin the beta cycle soon we could possibly fit in 5-6 betas. That’s a fairly standard beta cycle, but cut a week off and you’re looking at a relatively short beta cycle. Not to say it’s impossible, but I don’t think it’s very likely they would cut things that short.

It’s stressing me so much to wait and to have the uncertainty when it’s actually coming.
iOS 18.4 was supposed to be THE update when they would actually deliver on their big iOS 18 / Apple Intelligence promises.
So it’s sad/concerning to hear that apparently these features have been pushed to iOS 18.5.
