I got a couple from my iOS 18 wishlist this year, but they were a little hard to find and not quite what I expected:
- Hide apps. It’s there, but as a security feature and not a customization thing. It's also poorly implemented as I can't hide most of the Apple apps like Health, Fitness, Feedback, etc. The real issue is hiding apps breaks them. Hiding AdGuard disabled the extension in Safari. Makes sense as a security feature, but I just want a cleaner App Library where I don’t have to see apps I never/rarely launch, but still need. I need my Shokz app and my TP Link Tether app, but actually open them twice a year or so, so let me bury them until I specifically look for them.
- Hide widget names. Using the large home icons, the widget names and icon names disappear. I was okay with icon names, don’t like the larger icons, but will take it.
Still waiting for in iOS 19:
- An actual icon picker
- Toggle for App Library to be the alpha sort by default instead of an additional gesture
- Make the App Library alpha sort look more like the watchOS list view
- Ability to rename/remove app category names in App Library and move apps between categories
- Ability to rename (nickname) apps
- Split screen apps
- Get rid of the jelly wiggle when editing the home screen
- Toggle to turn off or speed up FaceID animations
- Turn off the annoying waveform animation in dynamic island
- Dynamic island press action defaulted to the long-press action like it always should have been
- Bring ye olde Dark Sky UI to that ugly Weather app
