How does that affect folders with app icons and web links contained within?

I wouldn’t know as I didn’t have any folders on my Home Screen, just apps and web links. Although I have added folders with apps inside since, and they do not redraw.

If you do decide to reset your Home Screen layout, don’t forget to take screenshots of each Home Screen, so you don’t forget where to place each app.

So after some googling it seems you can not remove the apple intelligence data. The only way it will go away is if you start to run out of space on the device then it will purge this data? Really annoying it’s taking up 12GB+ of data now on my 17 pro after this update and I’m not even going to use it.

You have to disable beta Updates
Don’t have it on, never did but thanks anyway

Edit….. I went into change the beta to “ON” then off again and lo and behold, The download started. Confusing to me, but it works now.

Same here. Having 12 Gb of data since the RC.

The size of Apple Intelligence is something that never ceases to amaze me. In my case, it takes up 9.01GB on my iPhone 17 Pro, but only 6.38GB on my iPad Air M3, and I can use the same features on both. I don't understand this size difference.

So, it wasn’t until now that I tried the “proper” Liquid Glass as Apple intended it (had to turn off Reduce Transparency and Increase Contrast).

I am… speechless.

10-15 years ago, if I saw a homemade skin like this on one of those sites like 4PDA or XDA, I’d consider it a low effort hack job by some acne-covered high school “developer”.

For Apple to produce this in 2025 is… astonishing.View attachment 2575695
I see nothing wrong with Liquid Glass. But the status bar colour picker has been broken for at least a couple of years.

I rely on this

Weird I wonder if it would shrink some if I turned it on and actually used it for a bit then shut it off again? Strange how mine uses more with it off than yours does with it on is what I’m getting at.

What is the 12 gigs filed under in Settings, General, iPhone Storage, iOS? Apple Intelligence or a different name other than the general OS? I had 12+ gigs under the second option. It looks like Apple is reserving space for future updates in this case. I turned off ‘Automatic Updates’ and it freed up.

I noticed this same behavior with the betas, but it was restricted to whether I was still accepting beta updates. Sure enough, toggling the beta switch freed up the space. Turned it back on when a new update came out and turned it off afterwards.

Side note, I have Apple Intelligence turned off and luckily dumped the original six gigs off the phone when I upgraded. Another game of toggling switches and rebooting the phone.

Good luck.

Tried a lot here back and forth with the RC. Turning AI off, switched languages, to force a re-download in any way but without a real success.
It just went back to the 6 Gb but as soon as I activated Apple AI back it jumped back to the 12 Gb.
Currently not a huge issue because I have plenty of free storage on the phone but still strange.

Dang, edge shimmer effect still gets stuck if you open an app before it "resets". It was perfect in Beta 4, why'd they have to ruin it?

So you are saying if I turn off automatic updates and reboot there is a chance it may dump some of the AI data?

why is the dock when using dark or light icons frosted but in dark mode it then goes see through and looks Liquid Glass, its so annoying, is it a bug

Taste is obviously subjective, but I find this so ridiculously ugly.

I’d never install that willingly. Running iOS 18 on my 16 Plus, of course, but the day I have to use this will be a little sad unless Apple doesn’t change this garbage, soon.

Apple has quietly added 6Ghz support to Wifi in India. Good job Apple. First mobile company to do so after Govt authorised part of 6Ghz for personal use.

Edit: Only on iPhone 17 models. My iPad Pro M4 and iPhone 15 Pro Max both Wifi6e cannot see 6Ghz. Another half arsed update.

Unfortunately, after sometime, 6Ghz network got blocked. So Apple has still not enabled 6Ghz for India yet.
