Looks like they actually fixed a couple of visual bugs with this update.

The issue where the app "glass" border doesn't draw until the icon is at complete rest after swiping to go home has been fixed. (most noticeable on dark icons).

The issue where the output picker while in a call was showing no icon for a Mac has been fixed.

The background banding issue on widgets has been fixed (noticeable on widgets like calendar and reminders when in dark mode). In fact they added a pretty nice gradient to it now and it also does this on Mac widgets as well.

There was also a weird issue when you were using clear or tinted icons, if you went into App Library and opened then closed one of the groups, then swiped back to the home screen quickly, it would randomly change one of the icons back to the un-tinted version. You could then swipe over to App Library and back and it would usually fix it.

Also, when closing a folder in App Library while using tinted or clear icons, the bottom right corner where there are 4 tiny icons would have a weird transparency effect on the folder and then disappear immediately (only did this with tinted or clear icons). This has also been fixed.

Haven't noticed any battery life changes so far, 16 Pro battery has kind of sucked ass since day 1.

Just updated to iOS 26.1 no Apple Intelligence here I live in Norway so it should work on my 17 pro
It used to work on my iPad Pro m1 during beta testing but after the RC it’s also gone here

There is no toggle to turn on / off the Apple Intelligence in settings on my 17 pro or M1 Pro

Great, some visual bugs, mainly with keyboard, seems to be fixed.
But they have been replaced with new ones haha.

Quick settings are ”burned in” half a second after showing them, wallpaper issues when in folder and show/hide notifications, stutters when showing widgets on left side…

I bit the bullet and reset the home screen. It tells you it will get rid of all folders, which it did🥵 But I was ready for it. Now I’ll be recreating dozens of folders filled with web links and apps. But it got rid of the redrawing issue that’s vexed me since 26 came out. This is one hell of a drastic solution, but I don’t think it will ever be fixed otherwise in 26. Maybe 27, but I couldn’t wait that long once I saw your post.
Well that didn’t last long. With no folders and 12 Home Screens there was no redrawing when siping through them. However, after I reorganized everything the way I wanted it, with only 2 Home Screens but multiple folders with a number of web links and apps in each, the redrawing is just as before. So whatever this issue is, it’s definitely related to the number of folders and/or the number of items within. It took me maybe 5 hours but at least I trimmed up all items on my ipad, deleting quite a number of no longer functional apps or web sites. Sigh🤦‍♂️

The best setting in my opinion is go to Settings/Accessibility/Display & Text Size and make sure both Reduce Transparency and Increase Contrast is Off. The go to Settings/Display & Brightness and change Liquid Glass to Tinted. Then go back to Settings/Accessibility/Display & Text Size and only turn on Reduce Transparency. Last, go to Settings/Wallpaper click on customize on home screen and turn off Blur. Your home screen should be fine.

Best settings to achieve what though?

What are you talking about? That config’s burning my retinas.

Anyone else noted changes to the convert function in the Calculator app? It’s moved from bottom left to top right, and either the functionality is no longer intuitive or else it’s stopped working. I’m using iP 16+ and iOS 26.1

I'm not hopeful the redrawing of icons will ever be resolved for those of us affected. Seems to be a small number of folks. I will never reset my layout and start over as someone posted resolved the issue. That's a crap solution and for someone that has hundreds of apps installed, not feasible.
Finally figured out my issue is related to Focus Modes.

I use Focus Modes 24/7 to control my phone. Light Mode for a daytime lock / home screen and Dark Mode for a darker lock / home screen.

This is what's causing all my icons to redraw.

When I tested home screens without Focus Modes assigned, the icons never redrew.

I did reset my Home Screen layout after reading that post. It does get rid of the redrawing because it gets rid of all your folders. I had had 3 pages of Home Screens that turned into 12 after I did the reset. No redrawing swiping through all those screens. However, it took me 5-6 hours to reorganize everything back to where I wanted them. Cleared or deleted a lot of stuff and ended up with only 2 pages of Home Screens, but, many folders with a lot of items within each, and the redrawing is back with a vengeance. So, this reset is not worth doing if you’re having this issue unless you only have a couple folders without much in them. I believe it’s because ios 26 requires a lot form the devices and they just can’t handle a lot of folders containing many items. I have the 17PM phone and the new M5 iPad Pro and both have this issue in spades. It will take another release, maybe ios 27, where whatever the background process is in 26 is reduced to a level the devices can accommodate. As it is now, it’s just a bad upgrade that’s not worth doing if you have the option of staying on 18.

For me it’s my folders. I did a reset of Home Screens layout that got rid of all folders, it tells you that’s what will happen. There was no redrawing after that, but I was left with 12 pages of Home Screens. Once I reorganized everything back to the way I wanted, with a lot of folders, the redrawing came back with a vengeance.
