Bet Apple thinks:
“Look how people love our software, they are so eager to update!”

No. We’re updating because we’re trying to get rid bugs!!!
Nah, people are eager to update regardless.

Let’s see what iOS and iPadOS 26’d adoption rate is, but people update anything and everything.

They destroy their own devices and then they complain. Classic.

You can’t only let iOS download security patches in the background. You can also remove them.

I’ll take a few micro stutters (can barely notice unless trying to see them) for the option to remove swipe left for camera on the lock screen. How it’s taken Apple this long I’ll never know, but at least it’s an option now 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
For me it’s quite obvious, not exactly micro stutters. I do agree with you on the option for swipe to open camera, though. I mainly updated because of that and hopefully better battery.
are you guys on new devices noticing the lag when swiping between different camera modes? it's very noticeable on my 15 pro max
Yes, it’s present on my 16PM, but I only noticed it because you mentioned it. It’s very subtle. It’s not present on my 12PM, however.

Sad to see that third party apps are more optimized now than first party apps. Additionally, the lack of adaption of the new keyboard breaks immersion so badly. iOS has begun to feel like android, but android from some 7-8 years ago, when it was really crappy.

yeah because the 12PM doesn't have 120hz display.

Funny they upgraded the normal 15 17 display to 120hz but release software to ruin the experience

the normal 15 doesn’t have 120hz either. And it doesn’t seem like an issue related to the refresh rate. There’s a noticeable lag in random parts of the OS on 26.1, which is present on both of my phones - 16PM & 12PM. If anything, the stutters look bad on the 12PM due to the lack of 120hz. The only exception being the camera.

sorry I meant 17. But it's less noticeable if you only have 60hz

Assistive Touch is still malfunctioning. They haven't been able to fix what they broke since July. The worst part is that I've noticed it has the same problem on iPadOS. I don't understand how they can take so many months to fix something they know is broken. I've submitted the same report three times already, and they always say there are more than ten similar reports, but they don't fix it.

Sadly, I agree. This interface is so 2000s…

I mean, it is pretty, but it feels outdated and I’m pretty sure it taxes the GPU way more than a flat interface, thus, increasing the power consumption…

It's "pretty" in the way 2000s Pontiac Grand Am was "pretty". To me, it doesn't scream "high end product" as much as "I'm the hottest guy in my trailer park".

It's showing for me as enabled not greyed out on Verizon. 17 Pro in Texas
You know what, I just checked again and it’s not greyed out anymore. I didn’t even restart my phone in between it being greyed out and not. Very interesting. Must have become enabled after some time of talking to the tower.

The control center is still ghosting. No idea why nobody is talking about it. It’s something you swipe down a lot during the day.
LOL, I vaguely noticed it only because of this video, and even then, I had to run it at 0.5x speed to see it clearly.

Yes, there's a barely noticeable cross-fading transition (or ghosting as you want to call it). No idea how that looked before and absolutely no idea why people make a big fuss about it.

Glad to see I’m not the only one who thinks this. I was genuinely beginning to think I was on my Jack Jones thinking the interface is just so outdated, and this so-called redesign (liquid glass) is nothing more than applying lipstick to a pig.

Just imagine that Google changed their Chrome icon from this:

To this:

…in 2025.

We're really still doing that annoying color changing for the status icons and clock? It's so distracting when scrolling websites or in News.

Do these UX designers even use their own software?

Huh… so now there’s a slight bit of transparency on the App Library screen when opening a folder? You can also see all those background icons awkwardly shift downward upon opening the folder. Pretty ugly. This is new in 26.1, which is even more buggy and glitchy than 26.0 and 26.0.1 for me.

I'm not hopeful the redrawing of icons will ever be resolved for those of us affected. Seems to be a small number of folks. I will never reset my layout and start over as someone posted resolved the issue. That's a crap solution and for someone that has hundreds of apps installed, not feasible.
