Still an issue! My head unit rebooted 3 times on the 5 minute drive just now. I rebooted. We’ll see if that helps for my drive home…

See FB21062288
Still a problem after a hard reboot of my iPhone. I even tried NOT displaying CarPlay on my Stereo head unit and just playing music off a different USB stick with some music, and just being connected still caused everything to reboot again.

And seeing as though I've got a 2018 car that's not being supported by the manufacturer anymore (GM is going away from CarPlay), I guess I'll have to wait for the official release to see if the other 2 iPhones in my house cause this to happen.. Because if my Wife's iPhone starts causing her Stereo to crash, too?? Ugh..

Is the app redraw issue still here?
Yep. I would bet my next Social Security payment that it will not be fixed at all in 26. The visual changes made in 26 are too much for the devices to handle so some reappearance or redrawing is inevitable. They may make major changes in 27 to deal with this, but I’m not hopeful in that, at least for me, it causes little to no functional problem. Just looks bad when you have the latest iOS devices.

iOS 26 has been a bit underwhelming to say the least, coming from an S24+ Snapdragon model I thought going back to an iPhone would be a smoother experience. I was wrong, Samsung really nailed the optimization out of the park, phone never had any stuttering or things like that. But each update seems to be improving so I have hope, software aside my 17 Pro Max has been phenomenal in every regard.

I have three different brand vehicles and Wireless CarPlay in iOS 26.2 is working perfectly for me.
I'm using a cable, not Wireless. I'm able to replicate my issue now in three different cars. Same cars, CarPlay works fine on other iPhones still running iOS 26.1, but my iPhone on the last 2 26.2 betas and now the RC, all causing either the Stereo to just reboot or for CarPlay to crash on the phone and then looks like a respring, but then doesn't connect to the Stereo. This is a huge bummer.

Have you tried deleting the phone profiles on the car,, car profiles on the phone, rebooting the phone and restarting? This resolved the issues for some, including myself on a 2018 Ford Escape

Why don't you try it and see?

Problably you’ll be the only brave one who wants to try that.
Why am I constantly supposed to be the test guinea pig for a $3 trillion dollar tech company? Are they paying me to put my device and personal info at risk yet again? No I think not. So all iOS releases should be accompanied by a note saying “this update is safe to proceed with” or “WARNING This iOS update and/or Apple Devices is broken and may result in a broken iPhone or data loss”
It shouldn’t even be a question I have to ask, but at least I am asking.

Install failed. Stuck at loading bar. DFU mode it is. :(
it seems like they used Apple Devices

That’s what I mean. Functionally, battery life, etc. has been outstanding. Visually when accessing apps or swiping through Home Screens, not so much. Oddly 26.1 created specific Safari issues on my iPad that don’t occur on my phone. Those also have persisted through 26.2. Those issues I’m hoping will be resolved in some later 26 release. The visual issues, I believe, won’t be fixed in 26.

26.2 RC finally feels like the release 26.0 should’ve been, for me.

I didn’t have any horrendous issues with .0 or .1, but this one doesn’t have the minor visual glitches those did.

17 Pro Max running very smoothly after the first night on RC. Too early to tell about the battery just yet but I’m seeing zero bugs on my side.

CarPlay has always worked flawlessly for me with the factory Audi A3 in-car entertainment. I’m guessing the issues folk are having relates to the in-car system they have. Unfortunately it’s a bit of a lottery. Your mileage may vary (pun intended).

I’m genuinely surprised. Having experienced the final glitchy Safari UI in beta 3 and the lock screen Home Screen glitches in beta 2 I expected more UI issues. However, with RC I haven’t noticed any significant or even minor glitches so I’m quite pleased with the progress. I’ll just keep an eye on the battery life though. This experience might differ on other models I suspect…. With mine been 17 pro max
