Oh for sure, I’m sure I’ll enjoy it more once it’s more refined but as it stands right now - I’m good.

Installed the beta - bricked device - stuck on low battery screen, battery was at 60% when started the update but had plugged in. Force restart not working - device not being found by computer when plugged in.

What device?

Finally we’re able to just tap on a Recent contact and make a call rather than open the contact card! Plus I can’t wait to try the new call screening option. These are awesome improvements!

I'm getting used to it as well. It's rough and there are some "hold up" spots, but I think it's not the worst direction they could take. I assume (wrongly?) that Apple's done some accessiblity testing on this – they are arguably the leader in mobile accessiblity after all.

I've never reverted to a non-beta iOS version before, and I've been using betas since they were made available. However, I think I'll go back to 8.5. I've never seen such lag in a beta before (not to be confused with "... I've never seen such devotion in a droid before.).

Like being able to drag the clock bigger on Lock Screen customisation. Puts widgets at the bottom though so might be what people have done thinking it’s a bug.

I searched but didn't find any mention of this one..... after installing iOS 26 DB1 on my iPhone 16 Pro, I discovered that software update checking is broken. The options at the top of the software update page to select dev beta, public beta, and for that matter ANY version are gone. And when it tries to check for updates, I get "UNABLE TO CHECK FOR UPDATE an error occurred while checking for a software update" and there is a link for "try again" which always fails.

Anyone else? Hopefully this is a server issue?

I wouldn't worry about that right now, probably stuff being worked on behind the scenes.

Same issue for me. Tried resetting all seatings, and even restored but issue persists. Good to know that I am not the only one.

THIS. Lot of people being very dramatic for a first beta.
iOS7, had a few changes over it's beta. The first few beta's had a glowing green battery when on charge for example.
Anyway am going to wait until beta 4. Hopefully this beta is not too glitchy.

I will say my phone has been running cooler especially after turning the adaptive battery mode on. It’s less laggy as well and seems to be almost as smooth as iOS 18.5
