iOS 26 Beta 2 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

The drop shadows in Safari just suck. They are so distracting and ugly. The drop shadows filtered throughout the OS (and MacOS) just look so bad and unnecessary. Why, Apple. Why.

I don't think it looks bad per se, but I don't like it because it effectively reduces usable screen real estate.

Thank you for checking this for me! The options were already enabled. I toggled them off/on, then rebooted. Now it works!

It’s totally normal that your iPhone 16 PM drains faster with iOS 26 beta 2 !

So many issues with this beta on 16 PM's that I'm glad I am a peasant with a 12. The 12 seems perfectly fine but many are having issues with 16 PM's. I guess I'll wait for official release before I consider upgrading.

New effect plus it’s an early beta…
Let’s complain when it’s like this in a very late beta or the final. Until then, it doesn’t make sense.

TLDR;
Did they remove "Silence Unknown Caller" from the Phone App? I see Call Screening and Move to Unknown Caller, but Silence Unknown Caller is nowhere to be found.

Isn't "Move to Unknown Callers" essentially the same? (It says they will be silenced and moved to the Unknown Callers list.) Now you just have the choice to screen them. If you turn off "Screen" and turn on "Move," I think the outcome will be the same as the previous "Silence."

For me it's both. It's ugly and reduces usable vertical space. Any website with a persistent top bar will have half of it blurred because of that choice some designer made. They need to reduce the "height" of the shadow.

It's a baffling decision. The drop shadow/blur is everywhere in Apple's apps. The effect looks even worse in MacOS. It looks cheap and ugly. It's so unnecessary as well.
