Additional Notes

To get the beta over-the-air:
  1. Enable Beta Updates (Settings > General > Software Updates > Beta Updates)
  2. Make sure you’re signed into the right Apple Account
  3. Select which beta you’d like to receive (public/developer beta)
  4. Hit "Back" and pull down to refresh
  5. Back up to a computer or to iCloud
  6. Install the beta
If you no longer wish to receive beta updates:
  1. Turn off the Beta Updates (you can also sign out of your Apple Account to reset this setting)
  2. Wait for the next public release or follow the guide below to go back to a release build
Troubleshooting: If the beta doesn’t show up on your phone, try turning on airplane mode, then turning it back off, or restart your device.

How to install using a Mac?
  1. You’ll need the Xcode beta itself or a MobileDevice.pkg somebody extracted from the beta (click with two fingers or control-click), then choose Show Package Contents. Go to Contents/Resources/Packages. - this will work on older Macs that do not support the latest macOS or Xcode betas)
  2. Back up to your Mac or to iCloud in case you need to go back to another version
  3. Hold down Option, then click on ‘Check for Update’/‘Restore iPhone...’ and select the IPSW file you downloaded from the Apple Developer site. Note: You must be connected to the internet to complete the restore.
  4. Enter your iPhone passcode if you’re prompted to do so.
Notes/Tips:
  • Always keep a backup in case you need to restore your phone
  • Restoring wipes your settings and all data on your iPhone
  • You only need to reinstall MobileDevice.pkg if your Mac stops recognizing your iPhone
  • There is no MobileDevice.pkg equivalent to iTunes for PC which would require a new iTunes to support new/beta iOS

No improvement to legibility when using reduce transparency for selecting text.

The Tinted option on macOS still doesn't change based on the color of your wallpaper (mine is stuck as a dark blue, from the wallpaper that was active at the time of b1 being installed, for example).

I don't know if it was in B1, but on the lock screen, only the first time/clock font can be stretched down to make the numbers larger. If I switch the font to any of the 2nd through 6th fonts, it reverts back to the iOS 18 size.

I use a single folder in my dock centered to access my most used apps but now it will only stay on the left side of the dock, and I can no longer center it. I'm sure it's just a bug but figured I would share the feedback. A reboot did not fix the issue.

Yes, I only have three apps in my dock and they used to be centred in Beta 1, now they are left-aligned. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I collect magsafe powerbanks (qi2 mostly) like some people collect pokemon, and so I had the unique ability to try various ones when one didnt work. and indeed there is a problem with ios26 and magsafe
I don't have quite that many, lol.

I have both the thin and the thick with a screen Anker 10k Qi2 packs and my nightstand charger is their 3-n-1 Cube (which is actually MagSafe 2, not Qi2), and I experienced the same things as you, though I don't think you had mentioned the disconnecting and reconnecting.

Oddly enough, I have my 15PM plugged in to a 140w Anker USB-PD GaN charger right now and it won't go past 82%, though it's actually gotten cooler.

did anyone else get an unusually long apple logo screen after installing and then a "attempting data recovery" screen?
