I couldn’t wait for the public beta and downloading the developer now. I don’t want to test a build which isn’t the latest anymore. Both versions should be the same.

Cell service is terrible on this beta. I was in a the area with so so coverage and the phone was burning a hole in my pocket. Plus iPhone app is just stupid. You have to click bunch of buttons to get to what could be an unread item. Back to classic mode.

Wouldn’t it be crazy if all these changes with glass and new design of contacts and phone app could be just turned off by selecting a classic setting somewhere in the settings. I would hope that Apple have some kind of KPI to measure that and realize that all their hard work, and all these betas, and all these bugs are result of worthless changes that people don’t even use.

This is one of the worst iOS updates beta cycles that I have been a part of going back all the way to when the first started.

One thing my phone does reliably now is stay warm.

Is swiping right on the home screen supposed to do anything now. It just momentarily blurs the screen. Feels like it should either 1/ have a function, or 2/ do nothing! But blurring the screen isn’t anything.

Guess I’m going to have to change my wallpaper because I have these ugly sharp shadows under my app icons now that weren’t there prior to this beta.

Google Maps not working in CarPlay. Haven't tried a hard reset yet. 16 PM via wireless CarPlay.

Icons still regenerating when switching from Light Mode to Dark Mode and back.

Battery widget in the Today View is weirdly dark now.
Neither Apple Maps nor Google Maps worked for me (16 PM) after the update until I restarted the phone

I know it’s beta but how does ram management feel compared to iOS 18.6? I went from 16.7.2 on my 14 pro all the way to 18.6 and the ram management is atrocious. The phone still feels speedy but many of my apps are very noticeably re opening when I come back to them compared to iOS 16. I feel like I’ve lost about half my usable ram.

I noticed this very strongly on beta 4. So far on beta 5 it’s better. I went from being unable to keep two bank apps open long enough to copy account numbers, to no longer having this issue.

I only used up to 18.5 before installing 26 but I don’t remember RAM being a big problem for me on there. 26b4 was surprisingly bad in comparison.

What device are you using?

Only issue that I found so far is I can’t setup a VPN profile automatically when an app wants to add a profile. Beyond that this build is working great for a 5th beta.

Anyone having issues updating via MacOS? Getting: The iPhone "iPhone" could not be updated because the firmware file is not compatible. Both devices are on the current iOS/MacOS 26 beta 5.
