Apple haven’t called their near finished build gold master for years!

yea i know, it's just that on Discord they were posting that aside from the RC, a new build had also dropped labeled as GM, i think they were confused and confused me in the process lol

the one on the extreme left

Extreme left looks like a phone icon, second from left looks like an iPhone case (cut out for the camera bump), right is color, extreme right is color picker.

The "phone icon" is dark and appears selected, as well as color. If I tap the "phone case" button, it turns my icons black and white (not dark, not clear).

Found something new. If you customize home screen icons, now there's two new buttons (the two on the left), haven't quite figured out what they do, but i noticed the one on the left changes the tinted icons a bit.

Update: I think the button all the way in the left makes the icons tinted and more translucent /glassy. I like the effect.

That bugged the hell out of my homescreen. All icons went completely blank. Needed to restart to get them back.

Edit: Not a fluke. Tapped on Tinted, then the icon second from left, then moved the lower slider. Icons went all blank again and couldn’t get them back without restarting. Happening on a 14 Pro.

Wow. Did they bother to fix any bugs?

- The bug in Spotlight when you tap and use the loupe to select text is still there. It has been since B1.
- The re-draw that happens on the border of icons when you swipe out of an app is still there.
- Files app still shows in Spotlight search, despite it being turned off in Settings. Drives me crazy as when I search for things like "United" I'm stuck with Files named "Untitled" at the top until I complete most of the word.

I'm just shocked how sloppy Apple has gotten.

Do they have 2 developers for the whole iOS? For a trillion $ company, the sloppiness going on here is insane.

Minor bugs that I've logged but haven't been fixed.

* Can't create widget stacks on the "Today View" screen. FB is "more than 10"

* Siri speech stutters in any shortcut run via an automation (works fine if run manually - workaround is to set Low Power mode)

Edit: Just upgraded my Macbook. None of my MacOS issues are fixed, either. Some of those FBs have "more than 10" too.

I’ve been running the iPadOS 26 for a while and it’s fine, but now using iOS 26 on my phone… yeah so many small things and lack of detail. Nothing major, but not the polish i’m used to.

You can change it to polish in the language part of settings. Sorry couldn’t resist my dad joke for the day

Is there a UI/UX team at Apple? There should be dedicated developers just working on making the UI as polished as possible.

I’m still seeing some of the janky animations from iOS 18 on the lock screen for Pete’s sake and how long did it take them to fix the parallax effect on the Home Screen?

Fresh OTA install from iOS 18 here, wasn’t on the beta train.

Sometimes when you’re on the beta, bugs linger that aren’t in the final release.

I’m not seeing the app opening animation at all after updating to the RC. Restart only fixes the issues temporarily. iPhone 15 Pro Max

In all seriousness, from the color options to the OS. Next week's launch is not looking good for Apple.

I did not spend $2100 for a broken OS.

If you must get your update endorphin rush, update to iOS 18.7 RC like me and enjoy rock solid stable software.
