Still indexing after 9 days. iPhone Air, battery life is god awful so far. Getting worse by the day. Within 2 hours I go from 100% to 65%. As I said the battery health has gone from 100% to 99% during this indexing time after 225 charge cycles. And I'm having to put on the charger 1-2 times during the day now. Never had this issue before, but I do feel battery life on the Air has gotten worse every 26.x update and now 27 beta is the pinnacle of terrible battery life... Hopefully it gets better and we get the promised 10-12% better battery life as iOS 27 is promising (but doubt it)...
Where did they promise a 10-12% battery life improvement? That’d be a first I think.

Me too. Was it in one of the WWDC keynote slides bout common iOS bugs seen in iOS 26?

I can’t see it but I see two that are interesting: “Camera uses less power on Low Power Mode”

And “Improved battery insights”.

The first one is cool if true, the camera is very battery intensive and it has always been.

“Improved battery insights” though… the battery section in settings is just as useless as it was, right?

The battery insights page, yea that’s the one that I’m looking at that I said in iOS 26 battery life thread a couple of times that it ain’t makes sense to us.

I did see enhanced power efficiency in safari, which is the biggest battery eater of my iPhone usage. And power efficient personal hotspot but I don’t use that feature as much as I don’t tote my MacBook Pro outside the house as often as before.

iOS 27 beta 2 was released last night. Has anyone noticed if Spotlight indexing has finished, or if there are any changes to battery life? Ima give it 24 hrs to stabilize.

I feel like battery may have improved. I’ll know better later today as I’m going to let my phone get down below 10% and then plug it in to charge. With beta 1 when I did this, it would slow charge for like 10+ minutes. Under 5 watts it would pull. So slow that if I used my phone at same time, I’d lose battery percentage even though it was charging.

Which iPhone?

15 Pro Max. Just plugged my phone in while it was below 10% and it immediately started pulling 23 watts. So looks like that issue may have been fixed.
I think I jumped the gun on this. I currently have my phone plugged in while using it. I’m around 30% battery and even though plugged in, my battery is dropping percentage.

Anyone else’s phones battery health drop 2% while on this beta? I was at 100% at 245 cycles on iOS 26 and now with this second beta of iOS 27 I’m at 98%. This can’t be accurate right? Battery health will fix itself when ios27 officially releases right?

I'm at 232 cycles and 99% health on my iPhone Air (since release day). It was at 100% until day 3 of the 1st beta then dropped to 99%. Hasn't changed since. So yes it's very likely. Remember the beta also puts more stress on the battery because of stuff running in the background...

On an Air too. 252 cycles and still at 100%. Not what I’m on beta 2 and down indexing the battery life is back to the latest version of 26.

So that just shows how every battery is different. But I have noticed on Beta 2 that the battery life is much better. On Beta 1 I had to charge my phone 2-3 times a day to get thru the day. Today is the first day that I'm using the same amount as normal it says and since 8am to now (4:30pm), I'm at 72% left... And it says I'm using the same amount as normal. So Beta 1 had a big battery issue... Beta 2, best battery life I've had since the phone first came out...

During the early days of 26 I noticed on my M5 iPad Pro that maximum capacity was around 90%. That spooked me so I did some searches and asked on several forums including here if others were seeing similar numbers. Most of the responses corroborated those numbers. Because of that I enabled the 80% charge limit on the ipad which I had never been concerned with before. Just today, seeing someone reference capacity, I checked my ipad. It’s back to 100% capacity. The battery lasts as long as it did on 26 but that max capacity has been restored to what I had thought it should have been last year. Even though this is just the second beta of a new OS, 27 is far, far better than all of 26 even in its current general release. I don’t put betas on my phones so I can make comparisons between my phone, a 17 Pro Max, and my ipad. The phone is a mess while the ipad is what I expect from a device of this level. Kudos to Apple for 27, but shame on them for 26.

Similarly, I charged it for a few hours yesterday, but the battery drained quite quickly in the evening. However, while on MagSafe, there was no drain or battery loss during charging on my iPhone 15 Pro. Mine isn't the Pro Max, though. But I dont pull my iPhone off the charger as often as before since I now WFH long hrs

How’s battery life on 17 Pro Max with beta 2? I’m having hideous battery life and annoying bugs with 26.5.1 and I’m thinking of upgrading. It’s pretty stable on my iPad Air 5, and everyone I know that has upgraded is happy with performance and stability. Thanks!

15 Pro Max. Right now phone battery is at 19% and plugged into charger. Charger is telling me it’s pulling 2-3 watts. Arghh. Was really hoping that beta 2 would have fixed this issue. My fingers are crossed beta 3 does the trick.

Beta 2 is amazing battery so far. iPhone Air, went on road trip yesterday, again used same as typical day. Took phone off charger around 8am, had bad data in places thru the country-side of Ohio. Used phone for navigation, looked up places, made phone calls, etc... Got home around 4pm, went to bed around 10pm, at bedtime phone was still at 44%. So yes majorly improved battery vs. beta 1. Like I said best battery since phone was released... Noticed by Apple Watch Ultra 2 has it's best battery life recently on beta 2 also...
