I have a very minimal Apple footprint these days. iPad and iPhone. iCloud is basic backup only. No messages or photos. Yet I installed B1 on day 1 and when B2 came out it was still indexing. Why? I can make a couple of educated guesses. Was the ongoing indexing having an effect on functionality that would affect bugs I reported?

IMO, tell us instead of half assed headlines. Transparency? No. Confusion? Yes.
It’s not about whether indexing is still ongoing. It’s about being transparent with a message that merely says “if you experience any reduction in battery life, it’s not you.”

Beyond the initial 48 hours, it didn’t have any noticeable effect on battery life either. And yet, people still kept posting about it every couple of hours. They were so obsessed with it that they started polluting the b1 thread.
Hide that message, and people are relieved that indexing is done and the world started making sense again. This just proves that for 90% of Apple users, ignorance is indeed bliss. And Apple was in the right to take that away.

Could’ve been a bug that the message was persistent for so long or something else but Apple definitely learned a lesson with this one. The customer doesn’t need to know every little thing if it doesn’t affect them.

Question: I have seen some home screens where the icons are more glass-like. Example: The Photos icon is clear except for the color wheel, which shows the colors. The Home app is clear except for the orange colored house. Do I have a setting on that is preventing it from looking like that? Right now, the icons have a white background - like most of the icons do.

Can you post a link or picture of what you mean? It might have been a third party theme or skin.

Still getting the odd drop out on CarPlay with Skoda stock system wireless. Also WiFi is still problematic when the WiFi strength isn’t the best

Did the latest AirPods betas get pulled? My APM2 and APP3 both still haven’t updated to it. All settings are correct.

Anyone that has dual sim, have you noticed that calling a name using Siri doesn’t take into account your line preference and just calls using your first line?

I.e I have personal and business line on my phone, contact is set as always use business line but when calling via new Siri it always using my personal line.

Just tested this and it did the same for me. Did you report it? I'll reference the Feedback ID when I submit.

This certainly wasn’t a thing when beta 2 was first installed on my phone. Didn’t exist in beta 1. This just showed up yesterday.

I'm still having sporadic Wi-Fi problems, although they've been greatly reduced. The Shortcuts app automations are more broken than in beta 1. I've reported HDR bugs in photos; I don't know if it's a problem with capturing in bright environments or with the screen, but when I zoom in on a photo with brighter colors, it blows them out. I've also reported problems with the camera's autofocus; it goes haywire at times, especially in artificial light, although it also happens in natural light.
I also reported that multitasking is inaccessible on the Apple Watch due to Siri's new app suggestions. And AssistiveTouch activates every time I enter an app or return to the home screen; I had to turn it off because it was driving me crazy haha
For now, these are the most serious bugs I'm experiencing. As for battery life and overall performance, it's much better than any version of iOS 26.

There were some reports of iMessages not syncing for DB1, but it worked fine for me until the last few days of DB2 as well. Mine also refuses to sync on iPhone or Mac now, and hasn’t since June 23rd… frustrating.

Oh well!

I like the Liquid Glass on iOS 27 better than on iOS 26; this is one of the reasons I might not downgrade

This is absolutely incredible, and I feel like some of your words and thoughts were ripped straight out of my mind. It’s the detailed article I’ve been awaiting from the moment I downloaded iOS 27 DB1 on my phone.

It touches on every inconsistency I’ve noticed and then some. Everyone who cares about the WWDC 26 changes should read this!

I hope they port the MacOS glass onto iOS between now and September. MacOS 27 is gorgeous. Maybe the best OS Apple has created, and that’s coming from someone who hates MacOS 26.

I have a shortcut automation that runs by location when I’m almost home to unlock my smart door lock. I’ll be home in the evening and twice now at the same time it’s randomly triggered, to unlock the door. Argggg!!!

Meanwhile my Bluetooth automation to turn on the hotspot and off works just fine per when truck is on then off.
