we have 2 cars (Mazda CX-5 and Volvo XC-60). On both carplay worked with beta 1, now with beta 2 both don't work anymore (both are wired only). The car doesn't recognize the iPhone at all. It says connect device
if i missed any fixes for that I'm thankful for any information

I drive a Nissan Rogue and have had similar issues with previous betas. Typically what works for me is removing the car from CarPlay settings, as well as removing the phone from the car’s infotainment. After, restart the phone and try again.

I’ve also had luck with switching ports (my Rogue has both a USB C and USB A up front)

I am not sure if this was mentioned but I saw on my iPad when browsing a photo it will tell me the iCloud upload status. It will either show a cloud icon with a check to indicate it is loaded to iCloud, a cloud with an x showing its not in iCloud, or a cloud with spinning arrows showing the image is being uploaded now.

I do not have that issue with reduced transparency and light mode on. I had reduced transparency off and dark mode on but changed both to test. Have you rebooted the phone ?
A reboot fixed it until I turned the setting off and back on, after which the issue returned.

iPhone Air here so wondering if device model would affect something like this.

I had CarPlay issues on Honda, wired. db1 was worst and required iPhone reboot, db2 showed improvement and only had to detach usb cord, but still glitchy. I also removed devices, and also performed factory data reset on Honda infotainment. Seems to be working better. We'll see if it stays fixed on db3.

I have a cx-70 and installed db1 before a 5 day road trip ha. Wireless was really flaky with constant disconnects but wired was fine. Db2 fixed my wireless issue on the 17 pro.

Anyone else's Coconut Battery not showing any info after b2?

16e here and the Beta 2 feels like a full release at this point. They’ve ironed out all of the glitched from B1 and now it’s running as smooth as ever.

My only gripe is that they haven’t got around to customising the Siri animation for the notch yet.

Check your Photos settings on your Macs.

I just realized my photos hadn’t been syncing since beta 1 (my last photo was a screenshot of beta 1’s download size).

My library was no longer set as my system photo library.

As soon as I set it to be the system photo library, it immediately downloaded my images.

Neither of those run MacOS so don't have the option of multiple photo libraries.

Plus, I doubt it affects everyone.

This just bit me yesterday, on B2 however it might have started in B1 and I just noticed. I don't use 'multiple libraries' in my Mac account, BUT I do have 2 other users on the Mac with their own photo libraries and iCloud syncs, so when they login to the Mac it downloads into THIER account new photos for offline storage, In my account, the main account, it continued to work fine, but when logging into another user account the system library isn't set. When I click the button to set it, it gives me a cautionary and not the most clearly worded alert about some photos being deleted or not depending on iCloud or not... so I didn't continue. Seriously need some copy edits there.

Today I'll backup one of their photo library and then try it to see if it is back to normal.

That’s been my guess too. Apple tried being transparent for once, and the whole world lost its mind. Hopefully, it gets fixed, or CB would be useless.

If Apple was trying to be transparent they should have included an explanation - the what and why. Transparency without reference or explanation is almost worse than no transparency. 😁

What else is there to it? Indexing in progress which can be sped up by keeping it plugged in. Any further info can be googled.
Also, it was just a dev beta 1 that was not intended for general public so they have no reason to explain every little thing. Actual developers know already what that means.

Using phone while lounging poolside yesterday, Message app started having black background with white text and white outlines for the bubbles.

Is this a new feature to reduce screen heat output in bright & hot conditions? Or a momentary Message visual bug? Or maybe it's been there and I just need to go outside more.

I have a very minimal Apple footprint these days. iPad and iPhone. iCloud is basic backup only. No messages or photos. Yet I installed B1 on day 1 and when B2 came out it was still indexing. Why? I can make a couple of educated guesses. Was the ongoing indexing having an effect on functionality that would affect bugs I reported?

IMO, tell us instead of half assed headlines. Transparency? No. Confusion? Yes.

Anyone else having maps in carplay (Waze, Apple Maps) constantly switching from light mode to dark mode back and forth all drive while driving in normal daylight? Happens every drive to and from work (so morning and evening). Going to log it as an issue, but didn’t see it mentioned here when searching.
Only when lights come on or switch off as designed. Hope you resolve. Sounds annoying. Have you hard booted yet?
