This beta has been pretty crappy on my iPad Pro (M4) so far. Unresponsive screen. Sometimes cursor doesn’t show up. I don’t know if that’s just the search and Siri indexing but I didn’t notice it when I installed the first public beta.

Does anyone have this option available? i don’t on my iPhone 17pro
What region are you in? I believe this is part of the geofencing restrictions in the EU, same as Siri AI. But I could be wrong on that.

Stores can restore Watch without needing to send to depot now
That’s good to know. It’s just the onerous task of having to book an appointment and get taken through all the questions I suppose. One of my favorites is “has this watch been exposed to water in the past 30 days?” To which I look at them “well, yeah, it’s an Ultra. It’s waterproof, no?”

Update: there’s still an obvious UI bug in Messages. That dang shading effect that hangs over the top line of my pinned messages doesn’t allow me to select the top row until I scroll down, then back up.

I also don't have the advanced dictation option on my 17 Pro Max in the US. I wonder if it has to download a model or something for the option to appear.

My Safari search box disappears in private browsing mode for a second every time the keyboard slides up with it. Anyone else?

I also have an M4 Pro and it's been pretty slippery on beta 5. Beta 4 was really bad, with Safari suffering from constant lock ups, slow performance and loading issues. I went back to 26.6 as a result.

Mine is still indexing too. It's far from perfect but it is better than 26.6.1 which is scary.

What have you been testing? You could wait till it stops indexing and if that doesn't fix things, try resetting all settings. I usually do that between major updates but even sporadically it makes a difference.

One thing I've noticed on this beta is Files is a train wreck. It constantly "loses" files where I had a parent folder showing as 22GB in size (uncompressed a zip inside) but the only folder inside being 11GB. Nothing in the recently deleted area to make up the difference. I had to completely uninstall Files and reinstall it to clear up the space. There were other strange anomalies prior though from 26.6.1 where Safari just kept 6GB of orphaned data. I had to download a new file (just grabbed a dmg off Github) to clear it as there is no way to clear downloads (they show up in the iPad Storage section.

Apple really trying to not only siphon our wallets when it comes to storage space but treating it like their own personal landfill as of late. Not cool.

Does anyone have the bug where you go back into an app and the navigation tab you were last on is changed to the next one?

For example, in the Home app: you're on the Home tab, you swipe up to go to the Home Screen, then you go back into the Home app and now it's changed to being on the Automation tab.

Or in the Photos app: you're on the Library tab, you close Photos and open it again and now you're on the Collections tab.

It doesn't happen every time for me, just occasionally.

Both the “Automation” tab in the Home app and the “Collections” tab in Photos are close to the bottom center of the the screen… is it possible that you’re accidentally tapping these as you’re swiping up to exit those apps? That would explain why those specific screens are selected next to you open those apps… just a thought.

My Phone app often opens to the dialer screen and I’m convinced it’s because I’m accidentally hitting the “Keypad” button as I’m swiping the app closed.
