iOS 4 has NOT been released yet.

As soon as iOs 4 is OFFICIALLY released apps like Pandora will update their app to enable it to play in the background. Jobs showed off the version of Pandora that will be released along with iOS 4.

People really need to wait until the 21st when iOS 4 is released. Keep in mind the only people that are supposed to have iOS 4 are developers not the average user.

ANy app that is updated with 4.0 compability is backwards campatiable, so there is no reason that they have to wait. With regards to Pandora it is one the big ones and I am sure they want to make a splash with it, just my thought. I think there will be a lot rolling out shortly.

Regardless of the fact that iOS4 has not been released yet, many developers have the GM version install on their phones and Apple IS approving iOS4 compatible apps now, so that is what this tread is about. If less significant iOS4 apps have been approved with multitasking support, I'd be surprised if we don't see Pandora etc. before the final official release date next week.

Hey, my app IS popular :)

I think they're simply approving upgrades in the order they received them. Mine was sent about 7 days ago.

No offence meant. I've just noticed in the past that certain apps can be updated twice in a few days while other apps take more than a week after the dev has said it was submitted. In those cases it was always a very popular app that was getting updates quickly.

I was only joking :D
In fact it's less popular than I would want.

Chase Mobile just got an update with iOS4 updates. I wonder what it does....

People really need to quit pretending to be the "Apple Police".

It doesn't work right, that's what it does lol. It doesn't remember where you were in the app when multitasking. Doesn't seem like they implemented state saving for quick app switching.

I noticed that too. I had thought they might of not enabled state saving because it's a security risk. Maybe it's just background upload? I don't know.

I was thinking the same thing about the security issue. I wish they would enable it and just use a timeout somehow. But it doesn't surprise me seeing as they have put zero effort into the iPad app.

I first thought you were saying that Pandora is out but now I realize you were just randomly saying "Pandora!"

ReelDirector.

I'll test it and see what's enabled. Task completion would be handy, obviously.

EDIT: :( Rendering pauses when you leave the app. Isn't the Task Completion API for things like that?

Was Skype demoed earlier in the year with 4.0 compatibility?
Yeah but 1) it might just be complete enough for a demo and 2) Skype aren't into updating their app much.
