Not there for me either (4S on AT&T).

And this was the feature I've been waiting for (or to get BACK, rather) since I upgraded my 3GS to the 4S. :-(

Heh I thought I was going loopy. I checked 3 times, I guess it's an iPhone 4-only feature. Leaving us 4S users out in the cold. Ah well.

I'm running an iPhone 4S and I have the Enable 3G toggle in the above location? :/. Is this affecting AT&T only (as I'm in the UK on O2)?

The Enable 3G switch is not new to 5.1. I've had it for quite some time. I use it when I'm out at music festivals to help conserve battery life.

iOS 5.1 gives the ability to delete from PhotoStream. Here is the initial impression I found.

I dont think it deletes photos from PhotoStream as a whole, only the PhotoStream that is for that device.

Example: I deleted a photo from my iPad's PhotoStream. It specifically said this photo will only delete from my photostream on my iPad.

I opened my iPhone and confirmed it. Did another test deleting one photo from my iPhone's PhotoStream. Same message popped up stating this would only delete the photo from the Photostream on this iPhone.

So I'm assuming you'll have to manually delete the unwanted photos each time on every device.

I thought that too, but I just took a photo with my iPhone, saw it arrive on my iPad, then deleted it on my iPad and it was gone from my iPhone.

The only thing that DIDN'T delete is the computer version, and that's more important for me for deleting than all of the others. Anyone else having this issue too?

Do you read at all? No one thinks it is new. We think they removed the option for 4s users. Now it seems like only AT&T users can't use it. BUT NO OTHER DEVICE BESIDES THE iPHONE 4S. ALL PREVIOUS IPHONES HAVE NEVER LOST IT.

Possibly. I'm not sure for the Verizon or Sprint users.

Hmm so maybe my case was any pre-existing photos wont delete across the board. I wonder how it will work with AppleTV.

My problem is now I got all these devices with PhotoStream, whats the best way to manage the photos I dont want.

really makes no sense. one would think that the 4s would need to conserve battery life more than the 4 especially because of greater functionality on the 4s.

They did it for Siri most likely. But either way, not possible.

As an additional note, I appear to have gained personal hotspot functionality in 5.1 (wasn't available previously, O2-UK, 4S).

The 4S never shipped with the 3G toggle.

The new antenna system in the 4S was supposed to turn off 3G on it's own when the phone had lower signal etc. That's why it was consolidated down into a single "Mobile Data" toggle.

Either way, it seems some are getting it back and some aren't.

Siri still sucks in the UK, the best features are still missing. 3G is defo back, which is a godsend as the 3G in my area can be patchy.

One thing I have not tested is whether it switches better between 3G and Edge. With iOS 5, it hung on for dear life with 3G, leaving me with a barely working internet and dropped calls.

Now when you open Safari, it doesn't pull up bookmarks. It shows this.... Thank God... I hated it when it used to do that....

Home sharing of TV shows is still broken - TV shows aren't kept in series correctly and the ordering is all over the place. It's worked fine when it was first introduced, then was broken with an update and has been broken ever since

On the plus side, I love the slide up to get to the camera and the 3G toggle is back (4S on O2 in UK) :)

Photos taken before 5.1 can only be deleted from one device (must manually delete on iPhone, iPad, etc...)

Photos taken after 5.1 can be deleted across all devices at the same time

I guess I was sort of expecting a bit more from 5.1 ....... more siri functionality or at least some apple "this is an exciting and new" feature. But then again if this fixes my ever-present mysterious battery draining issue, I'll be happy.

(but really, would it be too much to get siri to turn bluetooth off and on or snap a pic?)
