Looks like iOS 5.1 brought back the enable/disable 3G feature on the iPHONE 4S. :D (Using on O2 network in the UK BTW)

Mobile Safari definitely feels snappier

But in all seriousness, everything feels the same and the only differences I noticed are the new slide up for camera option, no more annoying bookmark pop up in Safari, and ability to delete iCloud photos. I wish I had gotten the ability to toggle 3G on or off on my iPhone 4S.

Only if your passcode doesn't need to be entered (because then you'd be able to go to your photos through the app anyway), which is an improvement on 5.0(.1) functionality if you ask me.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9B179 Safari/7534.48.3)

You can now re-arrange the icons in your dock.

Why?

Why do I get a message in iTunes when I have my (iPad2 or iPhone 4S) connected and trying to download the update it says "There is a problem downloading the software for the iPad (or iPhone). The network connection could not be established."

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Yes i just noticed this,I guess it would be redundant to be able to not see photos when your phone is unlocked. I guess the only way to block your photos from the lock screen would be to decrease the passcode time interval.

The missing 3G toggle seems to be an AT&T specific issue now (Verizon cannot use the switch so it's never been there).

Call AT&T because now the switch not being there has something to do with their end, not Apple's. It's blocked on the carrier side.

iOS 5.1 gives the ability to delete from PhotoStream. Here is the initial impression I found.

I dont think it deletes photos from PhotoStream as a whole, only the PhotoStream that is for that device.

Example: I deleted a photo from my iPad's PhotoStream. It specifically said this photo will only delete from my photostream on my iPad.

I opened my iPhone and confirmed it. Did another test deleting one photo from my iPhone's PhotoStream. Same message popped up stating this would only delete the photo from the Photostream on this iPhone.

So I'm assuming you'll have to manually delete the unwanted photos each time on every device.

kind of annoying. and seems kind of stupid actually. so if, when you take a photo from one device, photostream adds it to all of your other devices, shouldn't it delete the photo from all your devices when you remove it from one?

Has anyone figured out how to delete photostream photos from a Mac?

I have a 4S on Bell in Canada and I don't have the 3G off switch. I'd never use it anyway, but odd nonetheless.

----------

Also, anyone update their 3GS yet? Want to know before I update my wife's phone.

After I lock my iPhone 4, wait a couple minutes and then unlock it, it will not reconnect to WiFi automatically.

Anyone else having this issue?

No. My iPhone 4 connects in about 1/3 second after being unlocked. Is it my imagination, or are the icons snappier looking, brighter with the names underneath more 3-D looking, easier to read??

Seems overall faster than before, especially sending text messages.

That's because bell and telus don't have anything less than 3G, Rogers has edge network to fall back on.

For those wondering, looks like 5.1 fixed majority of iPad 1 problems. It almost feels new again (though slight sluggishness on keyboard still remains, I still haven't experienced a full keyboard lockup yet (greater than 1.5 seconds) and iPod updates it's position in about half a second now.

Haven't had a safari crash yet too...

Hope this lasts

Now that you mention it, the settings icon has like a silvery shein to it. Maybe it's my imagination, though. Haha!

I think it got screwed up when I restored during the initial setup.

Apparently resetting network settings and then browsing with Safari to make iOS ask you to join a network will correctly add it to be remembered.

Everything looks identical to me!

That makes sense. Forgot about that.
