These are just four small features I really wanted to see in iOS 5:

# Ability to hide "built-in" apps (If I'm never going to use Newsstand or Stocks, why keep them on my homescreen?)
# "Find" in Safari < Thanks charliehifi
# Larger folders or multi-paged folders (33% increased capacity at least?)
# Remove all background apps w/ one click

If you have your own ideas, please share them. :apple:

Fix the battery drain problem
Remove newsstand from idevice and put it on app store for FREE
Ability to clear cache, cookies and history while in safari
Increase iCloud storage space
Fix common and uncommon bugs

That's it :)

I don't want the Home button on my shiny new iPhone 4S to become a flaky mess 12 months from now, due to the constant double-tapping for the multitasking tray, so I would really appreciate it if Apple added that functionality to the bottom of Notification Center. It would also work in landscape too, which needs to happen.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

Facebook integration.

  • Documents and Downloads directories. So you can download, upload, and share files between apps (without creating several copies like "open in").
  • Add IM capabilities to the list of background tasks. So for instance you could reply to a message without leaving the current app.
  • Playback control widget in notifications. To allow quicker access and less wear and tear on those iPhone/iPod touch home buttons.
  • Proper support for bluetooth game controllers. Self explanatory.

I don't think that would work with the way Newstand was implemented. It doesn't behave at all like a conventional app.

Yeah I've noticed my Facebook is a bit laggy on my iPhone 4 after the latest iOS update !

Some people are tired of the dreaded newsstand app just sitting there. Yes, it's an app. Open it, then close, then 2x click home, and you will see it open. For me and the rest of the people who don't care and/or don't want to buy magazines, Apple, put it in the AppStore!

I want the native apps to have more integration with installed apps, or to have facebook integrated with the OS.

It may technically be an app, but the fact remains that it does not behave like any conventional app. I mean how many apps do you know that behave like a special folder for other apps (yes, all those magazines and newspapers are each their own app)? It seems to be very strongly integrated into the operating system. With other apps relying on it being there, and would break without it (in that sense it is similar to most of the integrated apps).

IMO a more practical approach would be to have the option to hide integrated apps. Or to simply have Newstand hide automatically when no Magazines/newspaper apps are installed.

Print to pdf would be more useful than airprint. And while we won't be getting a user accesible directory structure, I'd at least like to see "move to" in addition to "open in", and not have it switch apps.

Make it work properly before adding more bugs into the mix.

Come on Apple we _know_ you're capable.

The question is: Will You?

all good suggestions, wish they are in it.

A settings widget in notification center that you can swipe left and right on(just like the weather and stock widgets) that has the most common toggles like Bluetooth, 3G, data, WiFi, location services, notifications and a button to kill all background apps.

......you can add homescreen icons that do just this by going here: http://brdrck.me/settings/

Just tap on the icon you wish to add to your homescreen and it will generate a shortcut.

iBooks had to be initially downloaded from the App store and that works the same way as Newstand.

No it doesn't. iBooks launches into a conventional full screen app. Newstand shows up as a special folder on the home screen. iBooks content consists of ePub documents primarily downloaded through it. Newstand content consists of other apps downloaded from the app store.

  • Instead of double tapping, swiping up from the bottom of the screen could bring up the multitasking tray. This will save people from breaking their buttons.
  • A better voice memo and Facetime icon, the current ones are UGLY.
  • Deep Facebook integration

I would like to see the ability to clear a text message. What I mean by this is sometimes ill get a text message which i do not need to respond to. So I have to unlock the phone to "clear" the message. Wish there was a close feature or something.

Highly unlikely (I know), but voice dictation/some Siri integration with iPhone 4 and iPad.

Realistically speaking, I would kinda like a landscape home screen (like the iPad's) except the dock could be on the left/right

Facebook integration would be nice, but not something we will probably see in the next update, but I am sure it is in the works.

Anyways, I would say I am 99.99% happy with my 4S, but since nothing is perfect in life, there will always be problems with things.

Only thing I can think of off the top of my head is I wish they would more options for notifications. I liked swiping on my lock screen to get to the notification, but I didn't like the message appearing there as well. Right now I can either enable notifications on the home screen (specifically SMS) or disable them.

What I would like is to have them enabled, but the option to only display the recipients name and not the message. This could be done with ease, but I may never see it because it might just be a personal thing.
