Yup. If you trust them to text, you trust them to text. If you don't, then you use parental controls to completely disable texting.

Or do what one acquaintance of mine does: His sons are allowed to do whatever they want, but if they ever "hide" what they're doing when mom or dad come by, it gets taken away. The computer is placed in a hall so that the screen is visible from just about anywhere - if they feel comfortable browsing the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue with their mom looking over their shoulder, so be it. But if they close a window the moment mom walks by, no computer for a week.

Same with their phones. Mom & Dad can, at any time, ask to see what's on their screen. If they don't show, it's taken away. But if they're fine with the parents seeing it, they can do it. They had one incident where the 15 year old had a topless picture on the screen, and he turned beet red, but showed it. They're pretty sure he made a point of not doing it any more. (They also aren't allowed to have their cell phones in their rooms. The chargers are in the dining room.)

That could quite honestly be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of.

Editable photostream..

It's nice to have all your photo backed up, in a short time yes, in a long time? we're going to pay more and more for the icloud subscribe :(
The other thing, if we share the apple/icloud id for sharing paid apps, every photo I took would be shared too, I don't know if it's only me, but I'm not fine with that. :D

... And they couldn't be packed into an ePub file, and use HTML5 rendered by Safaris WebKit, could they?

The only way that might be possible is by breaking the ePub standard. Cause it was never designed for that.

Also iBooks would have to be seriously restructured to even come close to the convenience of Newstand.

You offer no privacy to your children. Every kid needs their own life and not have mom or dad poke their nose into their business.

I don't want the Home button on my shiny new iPhone 4S to become a flaky mess 12 months from now, due to the constant double-tapping for the multitasking tray, so I would really appreciate it if Apple added that functionality to the bottom of Notification Center. It would also work in landscape too, which needs to happen.

Do home buttons actually wear out..?

Yup, my iPod Touch 4's home button isn't flush with the rest of the case. and It's kinda scary at times where i think it might fall out.

I REALLY hope the iPhone 6 has a capacative home button instead + the swipe up multitasking idea i read the other day.

Yep.
I put the blame, squarely at the door of iOS 4's multitasking double-press introduction. I've had every iPhone so far, and all my Home buttons were fine, before multitasking was introduced.
A swipe up from the bottom would be a perfect solution.

1. Fit more apps into a folder. I'd like to simply have a "games" folder instead of dividing it further.

2. Quick reply to messages without having to open the whole Messages app.

3. Hardware toggles in notification center

4. Built in Siri functionality without having to use Apple's servers for every little question.

Awful parenting in my opinion. Children need a certain amount of privacy in their lives to develop mentally and socially.

This simple video that I stumbled on via Twitter, shows just how elegantly awesome such a feature would be.
Make it happen, Forstall!

Frankly I would be happy if they would just fix Safari so it wouldn't crash several times a day. I've cleared the history, cache, etc and nothing helps. Hopefully they will address this in the next update.

'Party Que'

Ever been at a party and you've got music on your phone that your playing and a friend wants to show you a couple songs on Youtube? You say after this song finishes but we know that rarely happens. I'm proposing a que system that lets you add songs from your music library, youtube, and any other app that plays audio files to a temporary "playlist" and play in a specific order.

The only way to really implement this would be to use music stored locally or in iCloud...it isn't going to work well queuing music thats from youtube and needs buffering and such.

I blame Google for ruining people's perception of what a beta product is. They wet through a phase there were they slapped the term beta on tons of well polished products they released. A beta is a product not yet ready for prime time and still actively being tested and improved, so, yes, I would say you can count on this getting improved.

Make it work properly before adding more bugs into the mix.

Come on Apple we _know_ you're capable.

The question is: Will You?

You've obviously never developed software before. Show me a single piece of commercial software that doesn't have any bugs.

Can Apple publicly release iOS 5.1 first before we jump to iOS 5.2 suggestions?

+1 I can't believe it took this long for someone to say it.

Since when has Technology been about privacy? It's not like they're taking doors of the kids rooms. They're monitoring a tech device.

And you don't think a person is entitled to privacy while using said tech device? I think thats a ridiculous way to parent...
