I couldn't tell at first if they were serious or just taking the piss. But man I just don't get how you can hate something so much. iOS 6 doesn't really float my boat but it doesn't make my blood boil. At the end of the day it's not that important.

Agreed.

Reminders

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but in the reminders app you can rearrange the lists or cards (reminders, school, whatever you have them named) by holding and then moving them up or down. I just found this out yesterday and thought it was pretty neat.

Maybe this has been brought up, but Bluetooth audio sound quality, at least in my vehicle, has been improved. When I upgraded from iOS 5 to 6, the high frequencies were distorted. iOS 7 has fixed the distortion.

I just realized what bothers me so much about the new "reception dots" instead of the old bars. It looks like when you enter a password which is hidden as dots. I still don't get some of the design choices..

I don't get why they use dots for reception, but still use little rectangles for the tasteless volume popup they've given us. Especially considering the goal was to unify the design of the OS.

iOS 7 adds a bizarre green tint to the bottom and right side of the dock when adding certain wallpaper through iTunes sync, but no green tint when applying the same wallpaper through camera roll. I can't see how this could possibly be a bug but then again...it makes zero sense to include this as a purposeful addition, either. It looks a little like mold. This is the wallpaper in question:

This happens to me on wallpapers sized exactly to the screen resolution.

Have searched for the answer to this so apologies if I've missed it...

does iOS7 fix the really annoying feature when writing a text, whereby if you manually capitalise the first letter of a word, the auto-correct no longer activates for that word? You have to space away from the word, so it gets underlined as a spelling error, then tap it and choose the correct word..

Anyone..? This one really bugs me! :)

Didn't go through the 100 or so pages to see if this has been posted. But I found out today that your movies in the cloud will now stream instead of having to start the download first and then play.

Didn't see this on the list on the front page (so not sure which beta it started with), but BOTH iPad and iPhone now have the "globe" view previously only seen on the iPad Maps app and now it shows current day/night areas on the planet with night areas including city lights. Pretty cool!

How much memory does the "Other" tab use in iOS7?For me, it used to be around 1-1,4GB in iOS6 but now it's gotten up to 2GB.

BTW, I made sure there was no junk on my devices by running PhoneClean!

Not sure if this has been mentioned but when cycling through camera options Video, Camera, Square, Pano... The bottom text is rounded to give the appearance that it's on a Lazy Susan.

Beta 1 :)

I haven't seen anybody making this comment yet, maybe I missed it in the previous 136 pages or maybe it's just me, but I have been wondering this since Beta 2:

Why isn't the home screen brought automatically to the front when I close the last application from the multi-tasking bar? I really don't see the point why I should tap it explicitly to bring it up when there's nothing else left to tap or work with...

From a user experience point of view I would say it's either an inconsistency or design flaw.. Not thought out very well at best.

But, like I said, it could be just me.

PS. Wallpaper is from the iOS7 screenshots thread

I wondered the same thing.

Love that wallpaper - going to search for it now!

Hmm... Would you say it would be a good idea to install it on the 4S for everyday use then? My sister and mom have 4S's and I'm wondering whether to tell them to install it or not.

I'm mainly wondering because I used to have an iPhone 4, and when I installed iOS 6 on it it lagged like crazy.

EDIT: Thanks for the help!
It's perfect for everyday use now... on my phone (a 4), but I like to think I know what I'm doing and take the "informed risk" of using a beta.

For your mom and sister: wait till it's GM'ed, because then they could get support from Apple when anything goes awry. You shouldn't want to set them up with a Beta. It's only one more month before GM (expected), so no point in rushing things.

Then start with setting up one and see if it works okay. Then setup the other with iOS7. In any case, make a back up with iTunes before you upgrade them, so they could go back to iOS6 or download the ipsw for iOS6 to manually downgrade them... Do note that they could loose data (photo's etc.) in the process though.

That is, unless you're willing to be their personal 24/7 helpdesk for iOS7 in case they run into problems with the beta ;)

[Edit] - With GM I meant the Public Release version, of course. Not the GM for Devs

Lol shows how much I pay attention. Thanks for letting me know, I didn't think I saw it mentioned previously and I follow the iOS 7 threads pretty closely.
How do you get to the globe view? I tried zooming all the way out on my iPhone 5, but nothing happens.

Are you in Satellite view? Does not work in Standard...

Yep...satelite or hybrid mode only.

----------

Are you confirming that it was available in Beta 1? There is a "night mode" listed on page one as part of beta 1 for maps, but I believe that refers to the availability of the GPS night mode (color change) in maps when you are using it while driving at night.

Not sure if you are referring to that or if you are confirming that the "globe" view with actual daylight/nightime graphics has been in maps since beta 1. Thanks! :)

It has been available since B1 !:)

Globe was in beta 1, there was a discussion about it somewhere lol.

To my thinking, the better question is, why is the home screen even represented in the multitasking interface? It's totally redundant and unnecessary. It's not a task. It's not an app. It's the home screen.

When I'm done interfacing with multitasking, I press the home button to go to the home screen. I'm certainly not about to swipe right through a bunch of app thumbnails to get back to the home screen thumbnail in order to get to the home screen. I don't get it.
