The genius was wrong. Apps are suspended in the background. They don't use resources and they aren't "open" in the traditional sense.

OS X uses up all the memory it can get, it might not have been a problem. If it were, it's more likely it had something to do with a buggy app that wasn't backgrounding correctly.

Exactly, Couldn't of said it better my self!

Yet when I brought in my iPhone 5 for repairs the Genius told me it ran out of memory due to the amount of open apps. So apparently the system isn't working as well as it should.

Personally I would welcome it if iOS closed off some apps that are inactive for a long while but still running.
Or maybe there was something wrong with your particular phone at that moment--just like any computer at times can run into some unusual issue and get stuck on something or slow down or even crash. It doesn't mean that it doesn't work properly for most, most of the time, just that at times, for some, something somewhere can go wrong in some way.

I've never seen this prompt before, is it new to iOS7? (or have I just not found a site that made this request before?)

Also, the UI could be a little better. Safari intitially prompted me if I would like to save the password, and then after I said yes gave this dialogue. Why not just skip the first step?

(I know the dangers of saving passwords.... but seriously, is some hacker going to benefit from obtianing my DOG'S health insurance?)

Rumor on Twitter...

...not sure how true this is but Apple Updates is reporting "iOS7Seed6 11A4449d found August 15, 2013 at 20:19:14 EST Check OTA"

You can enable remembering passwords for sites that ask not to in Settings > Safari

Safari 6.1 beta does this too.

Beta 6 did something to my saved game progress, on Plants vs Zombies I got reverted 3 or 4 levels back.

Nope... I really feel the current implementation is perfect... You don't really need to check the time for every message all the time... Just sometimes when you need to prove a point or for referring to some event...

Well, yeah maybe you don't need to check every time, but I'd still like it as an option.

Before **** damn near the whole reason I jail broke my stuff was time stamps, quick reply, and SBsettings (kinda like control center). Now I'm just hoping that someday we get a quick reply for SMS/iMessage!

I'm rooting for quick reply... But the permanent time stamps would be just another redundant option in my opinion...

According to iH8Sn0w's twitter. Beta 6 expires on the same day as Beta 5.

October 6th, 2013

well, there it is, so much for everyone's Sept. 17th date for iOS 7 to be public release :p ...it ain't ready yet, I say two more betas before GM. ...they haven't even enabled AirDrop between iOS & OS X yet, (and changing orientation not working well yet, amongst other things).

So, I say, like the iPhone 4, the new iPhones may be announced Sept. 10th, but, delivering three weeks later, I say Fri. Oct. 4th. Mark your calendars.

That doesn't mean anything. Both iOS 6 and iOS 5 betas extended past the final version and new iPhone release period.

Literally means nothing.

I would still expect a beta next week (now, beta 7), followed by the GM on the 10th of September.

Beta expiration dates don't mean much as far as when a GM/final release would happen.

It's not definite that airdrop will be between osx and iOS, you're just assuming.... :p

Beta 6 is a hot fix, it won't affect GM on sept 10th.

+1 for quick reply...

What would be even more awesome if we could send sms/iMessage directly from lockscreen... You press a button and get a popup would be great... I don't sms, but when I do I gotta do it quickly, and with new lockscreen animations, plus the step of opening msgs, then new, than number, than type... it's so slooooow :(

Aside from that, does anybody know if panorama lockscreen gonna be available, or they discarded it for being a possible battery hog?
