Keyboard Lag iOS 7 iPhone 5

Just installed iOS 7 for my brother-in-law on his 16GB iPhone 5. He is experiencing significant keyboard lag. This is not just while he is in messages. The keyboard lags on any app that the keyboard is up (safari, mail, spotlight, messages). He presses on the keys and and it is delayed by about 5 seconds. When the keyboard is up, it also seems to lag other pressable buttons on that screen. Other than this keyboard lag, the rest of the software operates smoothy without lag. I've been running iOS 7 on my iPhone 5 since beta 1 and have not experienced any lag on my phone.

Has anyone experienced this issue and have any tips on how to fix it? I noticed he had about 1GB left on his phone when I installed it. About 200 apps and 1000 photos were taking up that space, so I think all of this may be causing a slowdown but I am not sure. He deleted some apps but issue is still there. I told him to remove all his photos and import them to his computer, but I wanted to check here and see if something else was causing the keyboard lag. Any help would be great!!!

I know this thread isn't for bugs, but really trying to find a solution. I think a fresh install would work, but can someone layout the steps on how to do that?

Possible this has been there a while but I'm on b6 and just noticed when you have a timer set, it shows the remaining time on the lockscreen under the clock.

I just noticed this the other day myself.:D

Also, if you are using voice memo and your phone goes to sleep by itself, (only the first time, so buggy), when you click home button, voice memo shows on your lock screen!

Something I noticed since beta 4, (I think, maybe earlier), if you have camera app open, then double click home button to go to multitasking screen, the camera, at first, will still be active...scroll through open apps and back and the camera is still on there. But, if you click home button once and go to another app, when you go to multitasking it is no longer active.

OMG, I just clicked on my volume up button while the camera was active in multitasking mode, and it took the pic :D

Keyboard Lag iOS 7 iPhone 5...

Have you tried giving the phone a power cycle? (Hold top button for 3 seconds, slide to power off, wait for spinning to stop + 5 seconds, then hold top button for 1 sec or until apple logo shows to restart.) ...betas can be buggy, sometimes 2 or 3 power cycles clear things up (same as with jailbroken idevices).

If it's like last year, the GM will hit day of the keynote (Sept. 10) with the (identical) final release following a week later, a few days before the 5S release.

Why would it be like last year? This year: 1) TWO (2) new iPhones. 2) A complete overhaul of iOS. ...not going to go down like that...it won't follow any of Apple's previous patterns.

Is anyone else having problems with Siri? Like it doesn't respond? And cellular is usually really fast for me on iOS 6, since iOS 7 it's been so slow:/

Also, the boot time hasn't improved for me from beta 5 to beta 6 on the iPhone 5.

Exactly, for which Apple are not accepting updates that use the new SDK yet. Everyone will have to wait for the app updates to flow from day of iOS 7's official release.

Is there a reason they're not accepting anything from the new SDK? I mean, I understand that the new OS isn't officially available to the public, but in theory, most of the updates would still be compatible with iOS 6. It would also help their server load, because people are going to be hammering them to download iOS 7 AND all of these new updates.

I just want to say a very well done so far to the OP who has kept up with all of the improvements and additions to iOS 7 that we have reported on. Thank you :)

Maybe because iOS 7 APIs can change over the beta period. It's a way to ensure anything using iOS 7 APIs will run well on the GM.

Just because they're doing two thingas slightly different? Apple has already told developers to get their apps ready for the new Kids category in the App Store. Doubt they'd do that now if iOS 7 wasn't coming out for another 2 months.

They won't until after GM has been released, same as always. It's to ensure the latest code is being used. Apple won't release the updates until iOS 7 itself is released, as there's no point until it's in the wild. They filter app updates out gradually in the week that follows in the order they came in, in order to ease any server pressure.

Oops.

Something that would be a nice feature on iOS 7(or 7.x). When you are in your lockscreen, you tap the the time and then will display the current Weather conditions. Then tap again to display the time. It will be a nice feature.

-Edit-

Now thinking about it...thats why notification center is there...nvm then ^^;

Anyone had the iPad screen clear the icons and just show the background when "pinching" to go to the home screen? It has happened three times so far. You can lock and unlock but nothing displays. Only a force restart fixes it.

I have also had the screen show the wrong size when changing from landscape to portrait. It was like the height of the icons and background stayed in landscape mode not filling the whole screen.

B ETA 7 coming today. BGR reported that their insider has confirmed this news. will come here to check out all the new thing in BETA 7

I've said all along I think it's coming out tomorrow. That'll be exactly three weeks before their big event on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Of course, I'll be prepared to eat those words tomorrow at 1:15 Eastern.

Beta 4 was released at 7pm UK time, so it's not unrealistic to think it may still arrive in 15-30 minutes time. :)
