You have to swipe starting where the icon for the notification is. And, yes, it will look like you are doing a typical screen unlock, but when you actually unlock it, you should be taken to wherever the notification would normally take you (like the actual message, in your example).

You're right, it just felt weird since it obviously wasn't like that before. Thanks for clearing that up!

I think it worked the same way before (requiring a passcode before going to the app). It just looks/feel different, and perhaps less intuitive, at least compared to how it was before.

What does the 20% and 10% battery notifications look like in iOS? Are they still popups or are they now banners?

-instead of ios 6 "bubble" pull to refresh, it's now the cog thing. as you pull down the cog slowly fills up clockwise and once its full it starts turning on its own, i think i liked the old one better. :p

-when you get a picture message, the picture shows up in notification centre

-in maps you can see 3D buildings in standard view when not in navigation (new i think?) note that not all cities with flyover have 3d standard view buildings, like Toronto for example

also: you don't need a developer account to install beta 1. you also don't need to be american to get iTunes Radio (you'll need an american apple id though)

Just curious why a non developer should be installing this.

What I meant was that it wouldnt go to the passcode screen until you slid your finger across the entire message in ios6, which was why I didn't think it was working.

Ah, yes. The lockscreen is different in iOS 7--certainly takes less to slide it open (only about 1/3 of the screen or so).

yea, i accidentally unlock my lockscreen twice and once answered a phone call because of this. not a huge problem, but i hope it'll be fixed :)

SILENCE:

Always: incoming calls and notifications will be silenced while iPhone is either locked or unlocked.

Only While iPhone is Locked

Is your phone on "Do Not Disturb"? I haven't had this problem at all

Hey I was wondering. Can you downgrade to iOS 6.x after to upgrade to iOS 7?

Think so. Just gotta go download the .ipsw file and go into iTunes. Hook up the phone and while holding down the shift button, hit restore and choose the .ipsw file. It will wipe everything back to factory but you should be able to restore to the iOS 6.x

Like many I wanted to check out the new OS but didn't want to wait for the public release.
I'm not a numpty and I know it's a beta and things can go wrong. I also understand and accept what may happen to my phone running the beta, and I can also sort it out if things go pear shaped without having to troll forums asking questions on how to fix my stuff ups.
I also have my UDID registered through a Dev, and anything I come across I do let him know so he can check it out and report if he hasn't come across it and thinks it reportable.

You didn't get enough in the the thread that got locked earlier? You just had to jump on this again?

I'm not a dev and I've got it on my phone. Got a problem with that? Take it up with my rear end. That's about how much I care about your opinion and how you seem to like to interject them into every little thing. Guess what? Nobody gives a flying F about your opinion.

Just curious why it's your business what someone does with their phone.

Well said.

answering call

I saw the answer call function, wouldn't it be more intuitive to press the green text instead of slide? I hate when minimalism is counter intuitive and change for change sake, more hate if change for worse. At least they should've give arrow or something.

I am sure that someone covered this. But no one tap to post to facebook or twitter any longer? I signed into facebook from settings, as well as twitter the way you would in ios 6. And i pull down the notification bar to find nothing like that?

I noticed that too. That makes me sad because that was my primary way of updating Twitter and Facebook

In control center what is right next to the flash light?? It looks like a dashboard icon to me. What does it do?

Takes you to the clock, alarm, stopwatch, and timer

It's slide so that you don't accidentally answer your locked phone when someone is calling by simply taking it out of your pocket and accidentally pressing the button or something like that. It's like that in iOS 6 as well (just with different style/color of course).

I am on iOS 5.1.1 (yes still) and i am using the EZDecline tweak to get the Accept/Deny buttons when a call comes, instead of the slide to answer thing. Very convenient for me.
