When composing a new SMS/iMessage from a new message screen...

Ex: Sharing a pic to Messages from Photos

When you start typing a contact's name, they will be in the following order:

1. People you have existing messaging threads with
2. Alphabetical Order
^^^ This will be highlighted Green or Blue (SMS or iMessage)

The after that, other contacts matches will show underneath if they do not meet the above criteria.

I am glad they implemented this. I was tired of always getting contact suggestions of people a rarely message. (Trying to message Alissa... whom I text often, but having to constantly skip over Alicia... whom I rarely message.)

I just wish Apple would implement the ability to restrict composing new messages to numbers with Mobile / iPhone tags in my contacts.

Apologies if these have already been answered:

In control centre, do the buttons for wifi, Bluetooth etc simply turn them on/off, or do they take you to that part of the settings app?

And up until now, alarms don't work if the phone is off. Does anyone know if this is still the case?

Thanks in advance.

Just the buttons, for wifi, bluetooth etc.

And no, the alarm still does not work when the iPhone is off (would be quite absurd if it did imo).

:)

What are the green call / blue hotspot / red recording bars like at the top in iOS 7?

Is the App Store keeping a record of all the updates that were installed for everyone? It seems like there's this ongoing list of already installed updates on the update screen in the App Store and doesn't look like there's any way to clear it out.

They need to inform you what happened automatically.

Flashlight - somthing wierd...

Today I received a phone call and noticed the flashlight turned on (I'm using the flashing option).
I tried to turn it off in the control center, but the symbol was unlit.
I succeeded only after ending the call and got into camera.app then turned the light on and off again.

I don't know if it's a beta bug, beacuse my top rear glass is shattered (iphone 5), and one of my friends showed me on his iphone 4 that due to hardware malfuncation can flash the flashlight by touching his iphone backplate.

Still, weird.

The flashlight symbol in Control Center is there to use the phone as a flashlight in the dark.... Its not a shortcut to turn the message/call flashlight on or off! :)

I was playing with text size for awhile now, and I think the default text size is a little too big. I adjusted it to one notch down and I think this is a good fit. With the setting at default, the text in Messages was huge.

I know this.
As I said above - I tried to turn it off after I answard the call and the flashlight was stuck in ON position, like it was on flashlight position - but in the middle of the conversation, it felt funny as hell, walking with flashlight from my ear :).

The dynamic wallpapers really are 'dynamic'...

They respond to tilting like normal wallpapers (the parallax effect).

The bubbles have gravity. Try it: tilt your phone sideways - they will start to "fall" in that direction.

I think they also react in more ways as well, like shaking your device and what not (maybe makes more appear?)... Not sure.

The parallax effect is present across the UI - pretty much any time there is a "layer" above another part of the screen, you can tilt your device around and notice it. Examples:

- When swiping back, hold it 1/2 way (ie: don't actually go to the previous screen, but start to). Tilt your phone - the top screen/layer reacts to tilting, because the previous screen is under it.

- menu prompts react to it as well (hold on a link in safari to bring up the options like "open in new tab", etc). You'll again see that this new top layer will behave as if it is really above the other layer.

This shows up in TONS of places, and I think even some UI elements like toggles and what not too (kind of like the volume knob in iOS 6, how it would react).

Haven't read the whole thread, so apologize if this has been asked/answered...

For iTunes Radio, is there a way to turn explicit lyrics on and off? I noticed that it defaulted to clean versions, but sometimes my kids aren't in the car with me when i am streaming :)

NEVERMIND! Saw a whole thread about it. Doh!

One thing I wish reminders and notes did was be able to be shared in a group so we could all add / remove / complete tasks. Plenty of third party apps offer this. Any sign of it in ios7?

Thanks to everyone posting and contributing. Been a great read the past couple of days. Bring on public release!

Also, any chance of a screenshot of the new spotlight? :D

I haven't seen any signs of that but you could all download google drive and make changes on a google document instead?

Back when I had my black berry I would turn my phone off each night, because the alarm would still work, which i thought was neat

but with my iphone i never turn my phone off it seems, always just plug it in and turn on dnd at night time

Just came across something interesting during AirPlay mirroring to my TV on iOS7 on a 4S - it appears the phone knows to use cellular data if its connected to a network without internet connectivity.

In my case the phone was air playing to my Apple TV (both were connected to an Airport Extreme without any internet connectivity) and the iPhone was using 3G to load Safari pages whilst simultaneously displaying that over WiFi to the TV.

I don't recall this ever being the case in previous versions, but forgive me if it was.

When you change the default mail account, it changes the account used but it still lists the old one in the settings. I changed from Yahoo to gmail and it still said yahoo was the default, but used gmail.

Alternately you can crate a wifi hotspot on your phone and connect the atv to your phones hotspot... And it'll do the same... :)

Woah! Glad you noticed. This could is handy!

Notes not syncing properly!

I found a bug with the stock notes app. It's not showing the detailed content but the only subject line and when you go inside that there is an empty page.

Anyone having this issue?

I haven't seen much mentioned about iOS7 running on the iPad or iPad mini.

Anyone with experience have any comments?
