It fades. When someone says Old School TV, I'm going to think of this:

It's not being pedantic, it's two completely different effects.

When I had iOS 7 installed I was able to swipe over. Maybe it was a fluke or I didn't understand, but I remember when I started to swipe left from camera the whole app did move. Since I don't have iOS 7 installed to test it anymore, I'll take your word for it.

Seriously, you gotta read carefully before say someone's WRONG. Go back and read my original post again.

Yes, it does POWER OFF like that.. I didn't say "lock", did I?

and yes the whole camera app does move when you swipe left/right but I was talking about you can no long access to the photos by just swipe right from the camera app screen anymore.

----------

What?

The screen DOES fade to black when you lock it, and vice versa.

And no, you CAN'T swipe left in the Camera app to view your photos.

Right and right. Thanks. :D

Just have to us iOS 7 for a couple days. The frequent location setting is automatically turned on.

I don't really like it. I know how to get home, and I can't turn it off. Hopefully in the coming betas there will be a setting to turn it off. Also, more settings for today view.

When you turn the device OFF it does shut down similar to an old school TV. When u lock the device it fade out.

It does slightly more than just fade by also kind of converging on itself from top and bottom, but it's still not quite an "old school TV" effect.

You can go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services and turn off some settings there, primarily Frequent Locations which would relate to what you are seeing in Notification Center (and you can also turn off some others, if not even most or even all of them).

New option to open in reader when you tap and hold on a link.

After a few days of use I'm noticing how atrocious the battery life is. Fully charged at 8 am and then at 20% by noon. Hopefully some internal changes can make it last longer and it's not just all the animations dragging it down.

This might have been mentioned, but when a pop up alert comes on the screen, you can move the background for the same 3D effect as the wallpaper (seeing "behind" the alert).

If you hide a Calendar in Calendar.app, are its events hidden from Notification Center as well? It's annoying how this works on my Mac but not my iPhone, and hopefully it's fixed in iOS 7.

1. When you download or update an app, there is a circular progress bar next to it in the App Store as it's downloading.
2. The built in dictionary (clicking "define" after selecting a word) has an English and a Japanese definition.
3. When you power off, the top and bottom of the page collapse and converge in the middle.
4. Siri has new jokes - "Tell me a joke." - - "John, get Siri-ous! Ha! Ha!"
5. "Inspector" icons throughout apps. (Example: in the Phone app, there is a circle with an "i" in the middle next to the name of each person you've called. Clicking it will slide in their contact info.)
6. Voice Dictation has the same new voice wave animation as Siri.

Is the App Store keeping a record of all the updates that were installed for everyone? It seems like there's this ongoing list of already installed updates on the update screen in the App Store and doesn't look like there's any way to clear it out.

I wonder if all the auto updating of the apps is killing everyones batteries

I noticed I've charged my phone TWICE today and I usually never have to do that. Not sure if it's just because I've been using it more or what...

Also I noticed my brightness was really high, so I turned it down... then it was back up again. I've turned it down about 5 times now... it seems to have stayed...

I'm noticing the location services arrow a lot more which could have something to do with it as well as live wallpapers and the excessive animations.

That is new! When I said "Launch browser" safari opened, however when I said "Launch maps" I got a choice.

Siri has always given you choices when opening an app that has similar names. It's annoying sometimes when I just want to open the stock camera app and it gives me a list of all the apps with camera in the name.

Don't know if it has been mentioned yet, but iOS native panoramas dramatically increase the parallax effect. You can pan around the entire image by tilting your phone. Only works on images in the panoramas folder. Regular images, regardless how wide, get cropped.

Hi, Guys !
As soon as I've installed IOS 7b1 on my IPhone 5 - synchronization with ITunes over the wireless network just stopped working. I've tried everything: restart IPhone, restart ITunes, restart Mountain Lion- nothing made this work.
I think this is one of the bugs in new IOS 7b1.
Does anybody notice this problem ?
Thanks, figaro331:confused::eek::eek:

I have that too! Thought I was the only one

Am I the only one who really badly misses the possibility to play all songs from an artist? This thing is kinda HUGE for me, because that's the way I usually listen music! I pick a band/artist I want to listen to and shuffle all the tracks of this band/artist (across all albums). This options seems to be completely missing from iOS 7... :(

You're right. But you can have Siri shuffle an artist instead. Just tested. But that really sucks :/

That should explain why. Since ipad 3 also has wifi direct.
Pity it won't be able to come to ipad 3.
Unless they enable iCloud for airdrop as alternative, you know, send files via iCloud to your contacts who has iOS products....

That would be cool and very useful so I doubt they'll do but we can sure hope they do!!

Okay so I have a PC.. Can I do the ios 7 beta download over a PC?? Help!

Yes you can. The way I do it is to download the ispw file of your current 6.1.3 or 6.1.4 iOS. Go into iTunes, back everything up, and then while holding down the shift button, hit restore. Choose the file of the current iOS. It's going to wipe everything. Download the ispw file for 7 beta for your device and while holding shift click on update and select the 7 beta file. if you go onto youtube and look up dinod7 he has great videos that are really helpful

----------

If you don't know the answer to this, then you should not be upgrading.

Don't be mean! You probably asked this at one point as well.

----------

So lets say you are in the Messages app and go to write a new message. You start typing in the person's name and they just changed their number. So as you are typing their new current number comes up, but just below it their old number shows up as "other". I know this annoys me too. Now with iOS 7 you can now remove that number!

To the right of the "other" number there is an "i" in a blue circle, tap that and there is a "Remover From Recent" option that is highlighted red!

Also you can send to groups in the Messages app, this may or may not have been stated. There are over 40 pages here now and they are all starting to run together.

EDIT: Also all iMessage contacts show up blue when scrolling through the list of contacts, while adding them.

Very cool! That was an annoying feature of 6. Thanks for sharing!

When someone calls... can you also tap to answer the call or do you have to slide it?

Because the button looks like it is supposed to be tapped, but only sliding seems to work

Blocking

I have a few questions that I wondered if someone could help me with please.

1: Are you able to block non-iPhone numbers?

2: Is it possible to block numbers from either calling me, sending me text messages, and lastly Facetiming me or is the blocking not as widespread as that?

3: Is the blocking feature, a mobile network option or standard for anyone using iOS 7? (I wondered if it had to be controlled by the networks first).

If your phone is locked then you have to slide to answer, if your phone is unlocked the ' Answer' and 'Decline' buttons appear.
