Or you can turn off Siri and use Voice Control. So nheilweil, check that setting.

Awesome -- thanks for the help everyone!

Yes Siri was turned off. Must have happened last night when I reset my settings, which is weird since the default should be to have it on (so maybe that's a bug in the Reset All Settings).

I don't think this has been mentioned before but apparently Flyover's 3D rendering is a lot faster in this version. I don't know this personally (as I'm not running the beta) so maybe someone can confirm?

Here's a question, I remember on the iOS6 betas there was a feature that would 'switch' to cellular if your iPhone was getting nothing from the connected wifi.. which was then removed from final release.

Has this made a return to iOS7?

If not, does anyone have any experience of how the transition from wifi to 3G handles now? Its a PITA when I'm walking out of the office connected to wifi and I'm out of range but still thinks its connected to wifi..

I still have that issue unfortunately.

For the Admin of this thread:

Geofencing in Reminders is not new. The fact that you can ADJUST the radius of the geofence is new.

----------

Settings > iTunes & App Store > Use Cellular Data

This toggle is for all automatic downloads and iTunes Match.

Like I said, I don't want to turn off iTunes Match or iTunes radio. I was wondering if there is a way to only turn off automatic downloads while not connected to wifi.

It seems like that should be an obvious feature. Hopefully they will include it in the final release.

You can have Siri play a radio station. You have to say the exact title of the station for it to work. "Play (NAME) Radio" works for me.

I've tried this several times, & it has never worked for me. Oddly, I've noticed that there are a few things that some users can do that others can't. Not sure why.

How's the keyboard? Will a pro iPhone typist lose any speed?

I don't think its up to speed on the old keyboard yet. Needs some improvements. I considered myself a pro iPhone typist and I have lost some speed.

The most irritating of them all is when using the new unified search field in safari. When I go to do a google search now I keep accidentally hitting the ".com" key that used to never be there.

Thanks for the info. I guess there's a learning curve involved so far; let's see how much Apple tweaks it in the GM.

Same here. That .com button is the bane of me when I want to search.

I have experienced what could possibly be a power button bug. I attempted to restart my phone and it looked like the spinning wheel stopped after a few seconds, and then the screen went black. Tried the power button again, after about 4 - 5 seconds and the phone started back up normally.

Im sorry I cannot. Since I do not have iOS 7 Beta 1 anymore. I'm waiting for Beta 2 to come next Monday (estimated time)

New overheating behavior

Minor thing but still...

I noticed that when the phone gets hot it doesn't shut down completely like it used to. Now it prevents you from using the flash and limits the screen brightness. Maybe they also do other stuff like limit the cpu or the wireless radios (speculation). Of course it still shuts completely down when it's too hot.

(Notice the little sign next to the flash icon at the top)

Hmm. Interesting. Thanks for the find.

You know what's funny to me? all of the people complaining that iOS 7 is buggy. Of course, it's a beta. And you aren't a developer so you're just wasting money on a Dev account.

I remember seeing this alert back in iOS 6 and maybe iOS 5 :)

It's funny how you don't notice such things using your device for a year/years and suddenly when you start looking you find it after a few days of use :p

Did it also limit the brightness to about half in iOS 6? :)

no

I've been getting some nasty heat coming off the back of my 4S, even after using it only a couple minutes. iOS 7 is cooking this phone.
