Just discovered that you can close a Safari tab by swiping it away.

That's good since trying to click in that little "x" was driving me crazy since most of the time I'd miss and accidentally open the tab instead of closing it.

Is it just me or in the music app all the artists are not being shown in it? Mine is only showing 5, yet I have about 48..

So I've had a search through the thread and can't seem to find any mention of this..I noticed on the apple site that the camera should have transparent bars at the top and bottom of it, mine is actually black, anyone else noticed this?

It's only transparent in Video Mode

Nope... It's transparent in all except square...

after initial install, location services is malfunctioning and ios can't detect local time. but it gets fixed after about 10 min. This is all on ipod touch 5g running ios 7

What you have is a bug, it isn't transparent in all except Video. I'm running this on an iPod touch 5th generation, and the iPhone 5 is also the same way, testing on a friends iPhone 5 as well.

wow, its amazing how i forgot to register my iphone 5.. thanks for the reminder! LOL

You probably did and didn't even know it. At least I thought I did when I was investigating my iMessage problem. It's stupid Apple and how every F*#@$ piece of their software operates out of it's own independent house and doesn't talk to the other.

iTunes asks you if you want to register when you first plug in the phone and even though you say Yes, it doesn't talk to the supportprofile page unless you setup the phone as a brand new iphone. It assumes it's already registered and so it never makes the query. Stupid.

Sorry, end rant.

not sure if this is reported:

but somehow, if you keep rotating the screen in Music, eventually, even in portrait mode, it'll show the new coverflow, and not the usual buttons.....

Also,
for video recording: it can only record up to 35 secs max as the screen will lock itself..

Or that could be the difference between the 5 and the 4S I feel... Because the 5 is taller...? Because when I click a snap the object that I keep in the band, which you say is supposed to be black, are also a part of the pic...

HMMM Nice Observation!! I don't have a 3.5inch device in testing so this is definitely plausible! :3

Noting some weird behaviour with Messages. Attempted to sent text, failed. Try again, failed. Try again, failed. Deleted text, typed again, failed. CLOSED Messages, reopened, sent.

Hmm. Will keep an eye out.

My Facebook notifications have stopped working after iOS 7 beta update. Anyone had this problem and managed to get it back up and running again? Thanks!

Reminders App and iCloud

Anyone else having an issue with reminders app? (and iCloud)

My reminders were not syncing up so I went to iCloud settings. I turned them off, delete them all on the iphone, and turn them back on. They still were not syncing.

Also if your try to delete your iCloud account, it gives me a box to type my password but the keyboard never shows up. Home button becomes useless. So you have to shut down and boot back up again.

Do Events still sync from iPhoto? On my iPhone 4 I can see albums but if I sync an event it doesn't appear. Only the Collections show up with info the iPhone put on it.

Good article from TUAW

To paraphrase some Apple employees: "Radar or GTFO." As many Apple persons are pointing out this week, unless you report bugs (called "radars") to Apple, you are doing nothing to improve the circumstances of which you complain.

As Chris Rawson has pointed out repeatedly over the years, Apple's "beta" releases are what normal people would refer to as alpha. On a good day. If they're feeling generous.

Apple offers a simple guide as to whether you should or should not file a bug report: the answer is always Yes.

Beta participants are encouraged to file radars even when the issue seems trivial, only happened once, seems "obvious", or may be a dupe.

Duplicates are never a bad thing -- they're like casting a vote. Highly duplicated items appear on manager reports, and various versions contain bits of information that add to the whole.

I speak from experience. Apple employees posting on the developer forums may swat you with large trouts to encourage you to comply with filing radars.

I should also point out that bug titles are editable, you should explain the bug in the field called "description", and if Apple calls you (hint the phone numbers start with 408, specifically 408-996-1010, and will be more likely this week after WWDC if you talked with an evangelist or engineer), you should probably answer the call.

The three main issues I've noticed so far..
- Today calendar doesn't actually show any events in it
- Only about 1/4 of album art shows in landscape mode, portrait they are all there
- Since the update, I've taken about 7-8 new photos, only 2 of them have come across to the photo stream, so I'm not sure why some are but others aren't

Anyone seen these and got any ideas on if its fixable yet? (I havnt read all 38 pages!)

A few other minor issues that I've noticed, which don't bother me too much as I know they'll be fixed..
- Occasionally the Safari swipe from the left to go back a page doesn't work
- Obviously a few apps don't work and crash/are buggy, but thats to be expected
- Sometimes the text in title bars in apps display over the top of whats already there

On a good note I don't seem to have the battery or earphone volume issues that a lot of people seem to be having though, which is good!

Also, is it just me or does the new reminders app look horrible?

Just double press the home button again. And surely using the control center to control music is simpler than having to double press the home button to get the multitasking tray then scrolling left as it was in iOS 6.

Duh.. sheesh. Thanks for pointing out the obvious. It's been a long week.

Home Screen
Sometimes if I open up the tab control, swipe up to quit all the applications on the right, then try to quit home and proceed to go to Home, all of my icons disappear and I can't access anything unless I lock and unlock the phone.

Messages App
  • Titles will overlap. For example "Sending Message" will overlap with "John Smith" and "Messages".
  • Sometimes Messages will not create a new line for me until a word is finished. For example my screen will show "Hello Tony, how are you tod" but what is actually there is "Hello Tony, how are you today?" (the today? should be on a new line)
  • Sometimes the "123" button doesn't work, so I can't add commas or periods or numbers or anything like that.

- Notification Center Today View - I'm actually seeing my Exchange calendar from the previous day. Calendar app has it right.

Same here although it is occurring with my iCloud calendar...

The descriptive text at the top (June 17th, partly cloudy, first thing on my calendar today is blah blah at 9pm, etc) is correct.

The calendar view below the above text shows YESTERDAY's events.

The Tomorrow text at the bottom is correct.

I don't understand how Apple can design the Photos, Mail and Calendar apps so fantastically well, and yet the Reminders app be so utterly useless. I hate attributing UIs as intuitive, but Reminders couldn't be further from the mark. It looks terrible, is organised poorly and lacks any real function. Navigating the thing is near impossible for me. Though, I can't complain about the 75% hit rate - Photos, Mail and Cal more than make up for the loss. They just missed it for me...

Was listening to the new radio feature earlier, and it stopped in the middle of Eddie Money, with the screen dimming to around 50% or less. Regardless of what I did after that, phone stayed dimmed until I rebooted. Other times, the radio will not progress to the next song. Today is the first time I have seen ads, which may have something to do with this.

I saw ads on day one. Well maybe day 2, not sure I tested the radio feature on day 1

I have in some apps the following problem:

If in Kycalc f.e. I wanna make a new Folder, a white field opens up with "Cancel" and "OK" on it. It is obviously for entering Text, but no keyboard comes up. Also I can't tap anywhere else than Cancel or OK.

Is there a workaround?

Not sure if this is only iOS 7, but when I'm in iMessage and send photo to group (which causes the send method to change to MMS), I get the "! Not delivered" error but the photo does go through. The error is a mistake.
