doing my first battery test, usually my battery is fine on all ios versions inc betas but ios 9 beta 1's battery is a tragedy so far, 34min usage, 1hr 15min standby, 92% left. anyone elses near as bad?

It's very bad.

It's very bad.

found why, its the background app refresh settings, theyre all broken & ignore what u set. turn on background refresh then manually turn off every app, go back to the previous menu then go back to background refresh, a bunch of apps u just turned off will turn themselves back on. same thing when background refresh is turned off globally, when turned on (so u can see each app's setting) a bunch of apps are on again. the toggle to turn off background refresh globally is being ignored even if it appears off, my battery usage reported almost every app having background usage. even for apps that dont support background refresh, literally 60+/72 of my apps had background usage

also explains why my device is very warm, cause everythings running on it in the background, guess ill revert & wait for beta 2

Put iOS 9 on my iPad Air 2, mainly for the split screen options. Found that hitting "Enter" on the bluetooth KB sends message now. Loving the split screen multitasking but it looks like we cannot do it yet with other apps! Only native apps.

The only issues I've noticed on my iPhone 6:
  • Woot crashes on launch
  • Some WebView-based apps have touch event issues
  • The App Store has a download glitch when asking for my password (but if you just cancel the download and re-download, it works)
Otherwise, everything seems to be working pretty flawlessly.

Pretty good for a beta 1 now that I've give my phone time to settle down. Setup as new and now back to a normal temperature.

How do you get to this screen? When I go to General > Siri, I can go to Language (which is just that) or Siri Voice, which lets me select a gender and dialect. I don't have the option to download any higher quality voices though. :-/

When I updated my old 5th gen iPod touch, it gave me the option to set up a passcode, and there was a "passcode options" button. There were options for a complex passcode, 4 digit passcode, 6 digit passcode, and no passcode. So I guess you can add it to the supported list.

How is iOS on your iPod Touch 5? Should give us a guide to how well the iPad 2, iPad 3, iPhone 4S and iPad Mini will run….

I'm having issues with the UP app (purple) and syncing with the UP 2. It crashes every time it connects to the band on both my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 5S.

These are VoiceOver voice options, not Siri. Access it in Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> VoiceOver -> Speech -> Default Dialect.

The only real change is that you can now use the local Siri voices for VoiceOver. Otherwise, they've just given the default VoiceOver voices names.

I will be able to tell you that as soon as it is done restoring. I figured it would be a good idea since it was previously jailbroken and that can impact performance. However, I do have my iPad 3 jailbroken, and all I can say, is that it is better in some areas than others. The animations are a LOT smoother (less dropped frames), but apps seem to load a LOT slower. Also, whenever I switch apps or unlock the iPad to an opened app, it stalls for a second, as if it is reloading the app. It displays the launch image and everything, but seems to restore its state after a second. It is the first beta, so it will hopefully get a bit better.

I am still completing some final touch to the iPad mini upgrade, but it looks BETTER than on iPhone 6 Plus. :(
New multitasking switch is really cool, but the result is confusing, because I cannot switch back to the immediate previous app.
Some certain apps may not quit correctly.
Many many more.
OK. Confirmed. Yes. You can run it, but the laggy is significant when dragging down for spotlight search. The keyboard will take more than 1 second to pop up. However, since this is the same issue on iOS 8, iOS 9 does really good.

So what you're saying, is that there are some instances of lag, it runs well overall??

I would guess some lag is to be expected given this is beta 1…
